While browsing, found my old favourite!!!
Go here

Get it NAO!! While you're there, sign up and buy a cheap game to thank them for their kindness

I've had that installed for a while, but I never got around to it. I have essentially zero experience with older point-and-click adventure games (I started in with Myst myself), so it should be interesting.

By faaaaaaaar one of the best ever made.
Totaly stylish ans funny as sin.
I love my robot.
-
You didn't know that this was free? I got this a while ago for the great price of nothing from GOG!
:p
-
Er.... This has been freeware for years. You don't even have to go through a download manager/store.

You can also get Flight of The Amazon Queen, Lure of the Temptress, and Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back. I haven't tried any of those out, mind you. But they're there.

GOG isn't a download manager, just a download source. And you don't have to muck around with ScummVM, as GOG's version is pre-configured.

And it installed and ran flawlessly before I got a call to meet mates for a pint or three :D

Which requires that you get an account. Not a big deal, but I'd prefer not to have to sign up to get something that was previously (and still is) free at another source, that didn't require anything of you in order to download the same damned thing. :/

I bought a game I already owned. Does that count?

Fair enough. I already had an account there before even realizing that they offered a game or two for free, since I estimate that I'll be making quite a number of purchases from them in the future. Already got my hands on realMyst.

I bought this as part of a Sold Out package ages ago! Never did play it all the way through. Think I got stuck at some point and gave up. LOL

This game has been free for a long time. It's definitely worth checking out and has a fairly unique setting as far as adventure games go, although the ending is a bit rushed.
-
The ending's very rushed indeed. Still good fun though.

I've been indulging in GOG's catalogue after seeing it on the front page here. I don't really mind stumping up a few $s to get old games. Cannon Fodder still drives me INSANE though.
Also got Aquanox (interesting), Shogo (nostalgia trip), Shattered Steel (not sure about that one TBH, haven't played it much yet) and Fallout (not sure about that either).

Shogo M.A.D. is awesome, and it happens to take place in the F.E.A.R. universe since one of the three companies that form the conglomerate you work for happens to be named Armacham.

though your reference between shogo and fear is thing i have to agree that shogo is an awsome game. funny plot, three endings, a cool background story, early 3d graphics, play as a massive robot and on foot, did i say funny story? the robots move like people so its not disjointed, the robots transform into fast unarmed vehicles. and to top it all of done in a nice anime style. oh and its funny in places!
