First of all - hi everybody! :)
Second - I am a proud owner of a polish Freespace 2 copy, which as some people here might know, has really really bad voice acting. Because of that, I wanted to download a copy of english stu_fs2.vp file and... the problem is, I cannot find it anymore, even though I had it on my old computer (which ended its life literally exploding, while playing... Freespace 1 :D).
So - I'd like to ask, where can I get that (and just that) file from? I of course have the original game, just... in polish version. It was quite expensive back then, more than 50$, so I am not really going to pay for it again on GoG website. I can take photos of original CDs if needed - altough I am not sure if I still have the box.
I tried searching forums here, but it seems that all information regarding obtaining original game files is obsolote, as are some installers which I got. None of the FPS sites seems to be alive, either...

Welcome, I'd beam you but I ran fresh out of beam cannons.
I completely understand the annoyances of local dubbing, it's a practice that has thankfully kinda ceased to be in the netherlands (Though the memory of the part way translated dutch interface in medal of honor allied assault still remains fresh in my mind, especially the part that I couldn't play multiplayer with the rest of the world any more because the dutch patch was released 2 months later on.)

So there, I uploaded it for you. One english version of stu_fs2.vp Get it while it lasts.

Ooh, thanks! Downloading.
Acutally, that one single file should be available to download to everyone. If someone doesn't have full game, well, that won't be any use, and for us owners of ugly localised versions it will be a huge help.
It seems my uni project will be delayed for few days again... Shivans, here I come (again)!
And by the way, I am not afraid of beams... :D

Right, flak is where it's at.
-
All in-mission messages and briefings will have inaccurate timings though won't they?
-
That shouldn't be too much of an issue.
-
I've played few missions already and it seems that everything is pretty much okay. No clipped dialogues and such.

Thanks for uploading that one. While the german voices aren't too bad (and certainly better than FS1) they still don't compare well to the original.
And now finally my first superiour office Lt. Loukakis (correct spelling credited to Androgeos Exeunt :p) really sounds like a veteran and not like a boy fresh out of highschool :)

Fixed. :)

Judging by the overall quality of the translation, no-one bothered to touch mission files.

The briefings and debriefings were not translated. Despite that the missions try to play the files (and with an english stu they actually play them). Need I say any more?
