While I'm not head-over-heels in love with her music, Lady Gaga does some pretty creative ****.
This latest video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niqrrmev4mA) is full of imagery like something out of cold-as-vacuum SF genius Alastair Reynolds' oeuvre (that weird goggles outfit reminds me so very strongly of Absolution Gap) hybridized with...a lot of weird other stuff.
In fact the Tiberium reference in her last video makes me wonder if she actually does read Reynolds...or if someone on her team does.
I don't know how the hell she comes up with this stuff (dancing musclemen in stilettos? an M16 bra?) but it sure as hell is interesting from an aesthetic standpoint. Very interesting performance art.
Needless to say, if you're not mature enough to get past the 'omg pantomimed sex' factor, this may not be for you.

Kind of interesting. The violin piece that's played at the beginning (Czardas by Monti if anybody is interested) fits interestingly with the song. I'm not a huge fan of her music, but her stuff is definitely creative.
Never seen one of her music videos, this one explains why all my gay friends love her. :P

The music is just way too tame for the imagery IMO, it's like Madonna 20 years after the fact. Also it's six minutes too long--curse of the dance hall strikes again. Machine gun boobs are always cool though.

I'm just intruiged to see what kind of Google Ads this thread is going to generate...

It's like S&M Third Reich
I agree with swash though the music really could have been a bit more brutal to match the visuals.

Oh man, my sister made me watch her Kill Bill knockoff video. That was a hoot, what with the burning cigarette glasses and Diet Coke hair curlers.
-
Hmm, interesting and creative stuff I'll admit. Apart from that, I'm no fan of Gaga.
-
this is just your typical music industry using sex and fetish imagery to get hordes of people to listen to bad (or rather cheap) music.
-
Actually, I think there is a lot of art in this, I can appreciate it (note that I'm no artist though). But I don't like it.
Somehow, I've got this feeling that I've seen this before. And it's not that she's not doing it well... it's just that there's nothing... different.
By the way, is it my impression, or she says those names in Spanish? And I'd swear she said "bolsillo" in some part. I've got to congratulate her on getting the pronunciation of the R letter right. It seems to be something quite difficult for most foreign speakers. She still has to work on the J letter though  , but it was quite impressive.

Ok, that song is retardedly repetitive.

KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Kill it with terrorist spiders? :p
I watched it on mute, just to get the visuals and played some random heavy metal song on top of it. The visuals at least are quite interesting.
some would say that watching it that way would ruin the concept of it being a music video, with the music the video together, but seeing that the song is (to me) about the fear of committing to just one Mexican, I dunno if it has anything to do with this video.
So I end with this question: in a music video, do you think that the song and the music have to be literally or thematically similar, or can the artistic directors of the video go "meh" and just let loose with a bunch of random crap, like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=840B27zYfOk

Battuta, did you read this (http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article7129672.ece) interview? It's long, and worth every second. ETA: Oh. Now it's telling me that registration is required. When I read it a week or two ago, that wasn't true :(
Also: when you mean Nazis, say Nazis, not "Other weird stuff" ;)
