" The United States of Tara " It's a really good tv-show, try it!
But the best is " The Wire "! It's my favorite TV-show.

Warehouse 13 (season 2 starts in July)

Royal Pains (available on Hulu) started off kind of weak this season. I'm hoping the next episode is better.

Yeah it's utterly horrible. The spontaneity of the doctor has gone from mildly amusing to a cringe-worthy send-up and the cardboard writing seems to have been intensified tenfold.

I just don lieks.

Each to there own i guess, but I've found it superior than anything Tennant and Eccleston did!

I wouldn't say smith is superior to Tennant but he is just as good IMHO

Burn Notice.  Best thing on TV now that the Stanley Cup is over.  Although, it really should be watched in order, so you have some catching up to do if you haven't been watching it already.  But it's well worth it.

If you are a Stargate fan, there's Universe.  Decent, but definitely the weakest of them.

NCIS completes the list of shows I watch.

love NCIS though I do wonder how DiNozzo has survived so long and not been shot by deliberate friendly fire

I had my doubts when it was announced that Matt Smith was to be the new Doctor, I thought he looked a little too young, but then I realised that I am getting older! LOL Like when you start to think policemen are getting too young these days!

But after seeing him in action, he reminds me of Tom Baker! Best Doctor Ever!

its very good. common, its malcolms (in the middle) father, cooking crystal meth. too funny. this actor really got some talent besides the malcolms-father-comedy. but then again, theres the episode with the fly in the lab

ok, now i have to see if i can lay my hands on some of the series you all mentioned. thx again.

I'd say it is.  Admittedly season 3 is being kind of erratic with the writing (WTF episode 10!?) but overall it's been amazing.

CooperHawkes, your mileage may vary, but I really enjoyed the first season of Eastbound and Down (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0866442/) :)

breaking bad is a real gem. ok, 3x10 was a bit out of context, but what the heck... it was a funny episode.
just look at 3x12, funny (never saw a man making a sad face like hank schrader after receiving that kind of "treatment") AND dramatic. wtf, the ending... deep down, "heissenberg" really is a bad ass. cant wait for 3x13.

"eastbound and down" looks interessting, too.

I wouldn't say Matt Smith is the best Doctor but the writing for this season has definitely been way above the level of the shows before. The last episode (Vincent and the Doctor) was amazing.

very recent show that's so-far excellent is FOX's "The Good Guys", which is about a pair of detectives for small property damage in texas, whose cases slip into the realm of standoffs and car chases.
awesome show.
record it.

i knew someone that was obsessed with burn notice.  just never could get into it.

I used to watch Heroes, but after forcing myself to watch some of the last season, i finally gave up.  they're trying way, way, WAY too hard.

I watched Lost.  was devastated when it ended, and so i had to take on another series, and i started watching 24 :)

I still watch The Office

I still watch How I Met Your Mother :)

You know what would have been nice?  If Lost had actually answered (see: finished) half of the crap it started.

That's why I prefer to think of the whole thing as the dog's dream.

The problem with heroes is that the writers actually figured out that there aren't any problems that can't be solved with proper use of time travel, and that sylar is perfectly capable of killing absolutely everyone.

Srsly?  I caught an episode or two of it, and the dialogue was nothing short of cringe-worthy.  Especially the narration by the main character.  "The most important rule of being a spy is to avoid being seen."  *headdesk*

If you mean that I failed to see anything humorous about it, then yes.  The narration was played way too straight to feel tongue-in-cheek, and the two main characters felt every bit as compelling as a damp towel.  Hell, even Bruce Freakin' Campbell couldn't get me interested.

I'm hoping Spartacus: Blood and Sand gets on DVD soon.  With all of its violence, profanity, and explicit sexual content it is simply awesome.  There's no reason at all why a straight male 17+ shouldn't watch it.  The historical authenticity is just icing on the cake.

Well I guess the primary audience of HLP is straight males and to a lesser extent gay males. So I'm going to assume for sake of conversation in order to save our friend's ass that by "Straight Males" he was referring to the thread participants rather than excluding the other demographics.

EDIT:
Okay, you watch it with Rian, and tell me her reaction as she hears the "c**t" word spoken as if it were meaningless.
I guess I'm also the minority when I say that a few chicks I know yell "****!" a lot louder and a lot more frequently than I do. :D
