I know there was mention of problems with #hard-light a while ago, but I've no idea where those threads are at. Regardless, after getting onto Mibbit, linking to Esper and puching in the proper data, I get the notification that I'm banned from the channel, of all things. Is this just Esper/#hard-light acting up, or have I been kicked from chat for no reason known to myself?

Hmm..... If I'm reading this right, you or someone using your IP got himself a network-wide ban. And since there's no op named "ludwig" on #hard-light, it probably wasn't related to anything that happened on #hard-light or the associated channels.

Perhaps this is helpful?
Looks like your host was banned from the network. Probably someone acting up with a similar IP address. It's temporary so it should expire after the 10080 minutes listed there.

This is why the internet should hurry up in switching to IPv6 so things like this won't have to happen anymore with enough addresses for everyone.

Not network-wide; that would be a g-line. A k-line is only for one particular server.
