Just another debate thread, only it includes two ships from one universe: Star Trek.
The Scimitar, headed by Shinzon, packs all the firepower it has - 50+ disruptors, and nearly 30 photon torpedoes. Plus, don't forget that planet-deadly thalaron radiation weapon. Also, it has the ability to cloak itself, rendering it invisible both to sensors and visual contact (unless hit by a phaser or weapon, which it will be temporarily revealed).
The Narada, on the other hand, is lead by Nero, a mad, bald captain (similar to Shinzon, only much more sinister looking than that teenage kid) packs all the firepower it had to destroy 47 Klingon warships and, of course, red matter. (actually, that's the big, scary spiky black ship you see in the new ST movie)
Given the sheer size of the Narada, I still think the Scimitar would at least be able to do a significant effect on the Narada given its thalaron radiation weapon and cloaking technology (however, it COULD be blasted away to bits before it fired its superweapon considering it took 7 minutes to charge it up).

Thanks to the Naradas intervention. The Scimitar will never have existed so instant win :D
-
The one which would have plot on their side (an important character on board, or some phlebotinium that needs to survive the movie/episode) will win. :)
-
The Narada wins because it has a cooler name.
-
:wtf:
The word "Narada" itself doesn't sound so threatening. Scimitar, yes, to an extent.
However, the Narada is scarier a hundredfold. Dozens of spikes make it look like a huge space monster instead of a ship.

The name Scimitar makes me think LOL SWORDS IN SPAAACE which is terrible.
Narada is a name from Hindu mythology and is thus inherently awesome!
Nerd Mode: "[Narada] is regarded as the Triloka sanchaari, the ultimate nomad who roams the three lokas of Swargaloka (heaven), Mrityuloka (earth, literally: "place of death") and Patalloka (nether-world)." How fitting for Nero. :D
SWARGALOKA!

SWARGALOKA!
Did you already know that or did you lewk it up?

I lewked it up with my mind. And a click to wikipedia.

THINK people...
Scimitar has the uber-cloak. Unless Shizon is retarded, they will not only be able to first-strike (make it an Alpha strike to boot), but if they keep randomizing their attack vector they should do a ****load of damage long before the Narada even gets one hit on them to reveal their location.
It appears the super tough and dangerous mining bore missiles are fired in an ARC, frontal. <
Stay out of that arc, except maybe in the very first attack? And the Narada will keep turning to new vectors it was attacked from. I would Alpha strike the front first to try and damage as many of those mine-missile launchers as possible. Then go for random angles/areas.
It's a MINING ship, not a WARSHIP. Sure it has awesome mining tools, but you can't hit what you can't detect...
I give this engagement to the Scimitar (as long as the crew is competent)

if the scimitar can deploy is thaleron device while cloaked then instant win
-
Unless it barrages a ****load of torpedoes to reveal it.
Or simply launch red matter

Something to remember, the Narada had been seriously upgraded with Borg derived tech before they got blasted back in time. It's possible they could detect cloak ships.

Didn't the Narada have cloaking technology itself (in the comics or something)?
