Title: Request: Notification for modified posts?
Post by: T-Man on June 14, 2010, 08:22:31 am
This is not a bug report but a small request.

Is there any way for a topic to send out notifications if a post is modified within the thread, not just added? I'm running a thread at the moment for some level testing which i'll be updating a lot, and i'm keeping my updates in one thread to make it easier to follow. I would just use posts to let people know i've updated but even i'd find constantly double and triple posting on it annoying (and i suspect an enraged pitchforking would eventually follow).

Obviously a feature like that being open has spam risk, so perhaps making it a mod-given assingment for a specific thread, like how threads are stickied at the moment. Feature might prove handy for some existing posts (like the HTL list).

But yeah, just a little idea. Cheers.

Double, triple, quadruple, etc. etc. posting is not a nightmare as long as it's limited to private boards, I think.

I know very long posts with updates and such tend to become difficult to monitor... so that's why I suggest to add the latest modifications to each update. That way, you will not force the other team members to look for the latest update in a very long first post of a thread. I hope you got what I mean, sorry if I couldn't provide a better description... :(
