.....made a lightsabre model.
It needs more small detailing but I'm reasonably happy with it. Took about an hour (most of which was trying to get fog to work before I realise a light might be better. It is a LIGHT-sabre after all).
Comments are welcome but criticism will result in decapitation.

Is that a knife on the other end?

Yup. My sabre don't need no stinking second light-blade. A regular one will do just fine.

Good one. :nod::yes:
I also watched Star Wars for some time, but I have already saw it. :p
-
Yup. I'm watching too! Right now. :D
And ticked sales for Ep2 start on Monday! Gotta see if I can get infront of the "Extremist" fans, who are camping outside the theatre at the moment and get some good tickets! :D
Btw, nice touch with the knife on the other end of the blade! :D
Oooh, the big and pwudy battle amongst the Droids and Vas- uhhm, Gungans is starting now!
-
Of course.. you live in Finland or Sweden or something. Yea... guess from what channel was I just watching it... Anyway this just suits for the moment, so I'll give it a nice little

Oh, one question about the Lightsaber. What does the blue button do? :D

Maybe you can change the colors with those buttons. Press the blue one and you're a jedi knight, press the red one, take some dark suit and a helmet and voila.
Don't ya listen to me. I'm drunk.
-
Actually, that was my initial use for the buttons but I think they'd be best suited as:
Blue - On/Off button
Red - Blade extend/retract button
Tiny Green - Overload or some kind of energy pulse
-
Why jedis need an on/off button? I think they use the force to turn this thing on and off.
-
So the blue button is a stilleto button eh? Cool... ;)

I point you to Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back.
Han Solo, a definite non-Jedi activates Luke's (or rather, Anakin's) lightsaber to cut open the tauntaun. {/me cracks open SW Encyclopedia to verify spelling of "tauntaun."}
Also - the usage of an extend/retract button is not unheard of, but extremely rare for Jedi to have and use, as it requires extra crystals in the construction (said crystals are extremely difficult to come by, too).
Very cool touch on the vibroblade (this is Star Wars after all - they don't have knives, they're VibroBaldes (TM).
--TurboNed
Edit: Dangit - I screwed up my punctuation, and couldn't leave it like that. (-:
-
I've done the other side. It ****ed the smoothness when I cut out the chunks with booleans but I think it still looks okay.

Yup, there is an on/off button for lightsabers just in case something like that situation happens. One tap turns the blade on and two turns it off. As to changing the blade length, according to one of the Jedi Holocrons, it was a fad at certain points in time and considered cool. At others, it was deemed an unneccesary luxury and most Jedi did not make adjustable blade lengths. And yup, it's a VibroBlade, not a knife.
Isn't the fiction and the SW Encyclopedia great? I AM A STAR WARS GEEK AND PROUD OF IT! :D:D:D
BTW an0n, cool lightsaber! ;)
EDIT: Did somebody say tickets for Episode II go on sale Monday? REALLY? (this means I'll go camp out now, don't expect to see me for a while ;))

Hmmm...Ya know an0n, in the SW universe, the lanuage characters aren't the same. So the label on the handle there isn't authentic :p
I can't find the pic of the letters now, but I'll keep looking.

The blades on the Darth Maul's sabre... make the ends more round.

It wasn't supposed to be accurate. I just got bored again and decided to stick and extra blade on quickly.
-
That looks good. The bump-mapping's actually quite effective. :)
