I'm not understanding what it wants me to do when it says this i thought i had the right idea but i want to run it to you first before i mess things up
[Copy the table entry into your ships.tbl in your data\tables (make sure you keep the table smaller than 380kb) You may have to extract one using VP View]

Please give us more information.
This looks pretty simple to me, it just tells you to copy the data in a sample ships.tbl entry to a custom ships.tbl in your mods' data\tables directory.
Note that this is a deprecated way of doing things, nowadays it's easier to just use a modular table file (aka a tbm) to add ships to the game. Read the wiki (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Tables) for more information on the subject.

Quote ends here. -- Jeff Vader
I dont understabd by that though i just put the tbl entry into the freespace/data/tables??

Why don't you read the wiki entry? It will tell you everything you need to know about tbl editing.
I know you have said in the past that you don't understand all that "codeing stuff crap", but this is just simple text file editing we're talking about. Surely that shouldn't be too hard?

Sounds like he's using the info in my FAQ which is very outdated now when it comes to modding advice. I'll have to take a look at it later.

Putting your text inside the other person's quote makes it look like they said the thing, instead of you having said it (which is actually what's going on). Please avoid doing that in the future. This example is for demonstrative purposes only.
@NJSP 3002: Please don't do what I just did above (which you also did earlier in the thread). It makes it very hard to read and to tell who's saying what.
