We are happy to announce the launch of the project's new website (http://www.wcsaga.com/). As development of Saga enters its final stages, we felt that our main hub needed to be revamped to make it more accessible and to allow for a greater connection between developers and fans. Come to our new site, leave us your comments, and stay tuned for exciting developments in the near future.

This new design is looking very good. Even your "final stages"-sentence makes me really happy.
-
Now that's what I'd call a professional looking website. Damn nice work.
-
looks good, though I cant seem to get it to load in Chrome or Firefox it just seems to be perpetually loading without doing anything. Opera worked fine so i can still see what's happening

I have Firefox and no problems with wcsaga.com

I also use FF and don't have any problems.

Can confirm this.
Cool website, btw.

Thanks!

It's either not loading, or loading really slow.
Edit: really slow
-
I fin it slow'ish on firefox via netbook. But speedy fast on opera via sony-ericsson w995.
Oy!
I tried regitering but das internet spamhaus listed my ip as a spambot wtf eleven one one one etc.
EDIT-
Also extreme Kudos regarding the best carrier ever made in the history of everything.
I love you oh gorgeous Jutland, let me buy you a glass of wine and drop a pill into it :nervous:
-
very nice! that made me revisit the trailers...
Speaking of which, I was wondering, what was the "project emperor" mentionned in the 2002 trailer?
-
A website with a ship database and not 5 sample ships. I love it!
Plus its shiny.
-
You had a couple problems with suddenly shifting into smallfont I noticed. Check the Kilrathi dumbfire missile description for one.

That was a "just for fun" ships for the Kilrathi I made. It could be described as a modified version of the Kilrathi dreadnought, especially build for the Emperor himself. It was never finished as we scrapped that idea in favor of going with existing ships and those we have concept art of.

For me all fonts are the same size.

Then this image is for you. Included both my browsers. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v307/ngtm1r/thenthisisforyou.jpg)

I still fail to see what is wrong with the site. If you are referring to the illustrations - it is totally intentional. :p
-
I see what he means.
When the Terrans first started improving their Dart dumbfire rockets with heavier warheads, the Kilrathi were also quick to retrofit their inventory as well. The result is that the newest dumbfire missiles are more likely to be used as heavy rockets for strike missions rather then light missiles. The Kilrathi Paw can be carried on any fighter when there is need for quick and easy firepower.
The red part has a different font size then the rest.

Gotcha!
-
I fin it slow'ish on firefox via netbook.
Try again. I applied several tweaks so page loading times should be much faster now.
-
i like the new design very much
-
I like your description of the carnaven frigate!
Speaking of which, have the kilrathi used frigates already? Do they have an "equivalent" to the carnaven class?
-
Well, I think I don't remember a real equivalent in the original Wing Commander games, but think about the Kamrani-class corvettes: They are pretty huge, almost as big as a frigate. So maybe they would fit a bit. The next bigger one is the light destroyer.
-
true, although I would see in them more of a counterpart to the venture...
corvettes are IMO used as highly mobile platforms to assault capital ships in a hunter/killer situation: simply put, a corvette is basically a mobile capship launcher...
However, we can argue about the role of frigates being that of a fighter suppresion platform, trading AMGs for a variety of fighter missile launchers for instance...
Yet again, the ralarrad and fralath (especially) definately have that power as they are referred to as a nightmare to attack in a bomber....
-
wouldn't a kamrani be outgunned by a carnaven?
-
The Caernavon might not be a great ship against other capships, but it is strong against fighters.
Also the setup is a bit different if you compare those two: IIRC if you attack the Kamrani from the front and above it can only fire two laser turrets at you. And there is almost no direction where it can use all of its turrets against you (except flying on its own level from behind it in a certain distance). That is different with the Caernavon. Its turrets are placed better I think.
