This hurts my brain. After leaving one of the puzzles I lost control of my dude and couldn't be bothered to start over again.

I was doing fine until I ran into the third(?) puzzle, the one that's a 2D rubik's cube, and then I ragequit. No regrets  :ick:

Jeez, you give up easily.  I finished all of the puzzles in a little over a half hour.

It's basically just a matter of looking at it in the most rigid efficient way possible.  Just think of exactly what needs to be done; no fancy tricks are needed.

Fine, you win. I went back and did it again. This time, probably more through trial and error than any coherent thought process, I figured the 2d rubiks cube puzzle out. Seriously, I got stuck, and just poked at it until suddenly it all popped into place. After that, the whole rest of it was a breeze.

It's a fun way to blow 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on your current state of alertness and general spatial reasoning ability.

The problem, I guess, with some of the puzzles is even when you figure it out, it still takes forever to go through all of the steps.  Still, it's not that bad...

I said "screw it" with the puzzle that had two overcrossing rings.  The rest of it was time consuming, but that's just a bull****-waste-of-time.

finally figured out the first puzzle, after that it was obvious what to do for the rest of them.

that one was easy, took me two minutes to solve.

at least i knew what to do with that puzzle. it had a clear objective. after thinking of a couple techniques i could use to pull it off, it was easy, but probably took me the longest.

Ugh.  That puzzle with the two rotating circles that interlock at two points had me stuck for more than half an hour.

It probably took easily half the time I spent playing the game.  I finally got it though.

Finished it in about twenty eight minutes last night.

The intro was EPIC.
I want one of those pods in Freespace.

that was fun. Took me around a half hour to get it all. The 2D rubik's cube was hard, but once you get the technique to solve it it gets pretty easy.

Beat it, was certainly challenging.

I think the designer mistook usably broken for challenging, the difficulty in most puzzles comes not from clearing the objective, but figuring out what the objective is and fighting against the controls to get there, the game would be geometrically easier if the  controls allowed you to shift/rotate in both directions, as opposed to requiring you to rotate through all the pieces to move it one position in the other direction. it's like driving a car that can only turn right, it's not particularly hard just unnecessarily time consuming.

Maybe that's how orbital binary supercomputers work.
:nervous:

I have a BS in computer science, I think I know how how orbital binary supercomputers work, and this was in no way an accurate representation, for one thing no console interface.

Well I've a D- in oranges and hamsters and I can certainly testify that all orbital supercomputers must contain Soil, Doritos, tiny Chocobos, a small amount of ions, just a pinch of summertime and an electric eel as that's what invented electric.

It's truuuuuuue. :p

Meh wasn't too hard.

For me, the goal of the puzzles were pretty damn clear: get all the symbols together in the right row!
It's the specific mechanics of each puzzle that make it challenging.

Yeha--very annoying when you leave the page or whatever and lose all progress with no hope of having perhaps a cheat/level code to let you cheat back to where you were before.

And you have to watch the intro again as well.

The game doesn't take that long to complete...
Then again, I played it on my laptop when I was formatting my computer and had nothing to do...
