First, I want to make sure nobody is offended. No offence intended to n00bs.
That said...:
After a short lapse in activity, here is render #3 from me.
I think it was originally Dr.Zer0's idea for a render of 'the n00b influx', now that the VBB is down. I live to serve, so here it is.
Completely LW, apart from text in PhotoShop. All from scratch. (aside from the models and texes, of course)
Normal version:

Version without text (for those people who want "just another render™")

You'll need to copy+paste the URL. *glares at 50megs hosting*
Awaiting your opinions...

Change the field of view to make 'em look bigger.
-
Well, I was going for the wide angle look. If I changed the FOV, that'd lose the 'atmosphere' of the picture. Also, it'd make it clearer where the line of ships ends, and we don't want that do we? :p
Anyway, since when were newbies big? I did choose what are commonly regarded as the two worst fighters for a reason, y'know?
-
You should throw in some Elysiums and Argo's with things like "1337" and "FS3" sprawled across the side.
-
I'm onto it.
EDIT: Coolmon, check first post. Fixed. :p

No i dont.

Put a big Orion on the left firing beams at the fighters, and have a huge flourescent name plate saying GTD Thunder.
-
Hell, with that.

And what about GTD ZylonBane???

Do you really want a floating derelict spewing forth threats that have no foundation?

It could shoot flaming chunks of verbal debris at n00bs.
-
Lets not go down that road please guys :)

I've changed my mind. It should just be firing indescriminatly.
*runs*
-
LOL! I like it! And definitely get the GTD Thunder in there just killing everyone...and maybe a Setekh off to the side doing nothing...:D
Good render!
-
:yes: Thats really good! Heheheh. It's like they were born from destruction, like the children of Shiva or something! :D I like!

this is kinda funny, the render coming from a n00b :D
-
Theres some differences here
n00b= A new player that asks annoying questions and is a plague or is an experienced and does the same thing.
Newbie= A New Player
-
"newbie" with a small n, means someone new.
Anything else means a degenerate retard.

ermmmmm....let's not go down that road again...
*Corsair jumps in in his Herc Mk. IIIIVXXXX and powers up the SpaceCrack Missle Batteries™* Steak for Dinner!

:D
*A large craft appears, bristling with weapons and over two kilometers long. Corsair has just enough time to make out CSR Devastator written on its side before one of the turrets begins to power up; Corsair wisely jumps out of his craft as a Naval ERPPC beam vaporizes it*
I just can't stand it when people use Roman numerals improperly. That herc should have been Mk. XXXXIX
-
Meh. I did that on purpose...
And I wasn't trying to bring back poor setekh! just give a little reminder, that's all. ;)
-
You mean I missed it again? Oh well, back to the Outback Steakhouse :D:p
-
That herc should have been Mk. XXXXIX
Actually it is IL. :D Roman numerals are useless in this day, though. :p
I got my Hercules Mark L though, so ha! ;7 :D
-
i'll take you on in my LNCa Sillier with my SillyBeams™anyday :D

 remembered the three of each kind rule for the Is, but not the Xs.
And Roman numerals are useful these days, too, for reading thin gs written in Lingua Latina :p

Nice render. The quality is very nice - good use of motion blur. I think the FOV is perfect - of course it could be different, but you'd produce a different effect. ;)

Go look up my TBL entry...

Wow, complimented by the great Setekh? :)
Here's the latest version of the render, now featuring...:
- 'l337' Argo
- 'FS3' Elysium
- GTD Thunder (with attitude)

'The n00b Syndrome'
Again, awaiting comments...
-
:D:D
:lol::lol:
I think the elysium should be closer to the camera and the Thunder should be farther away though...
-
:D Pretty funny. :D

Add some particles on the ships in and just infront of the beam. And twist the ones just past the beam to make it look like they've been knocked off balance by a beam impact.

I would, but... I'm still teaching myself this, it's only my third render... I'll try messing around with particles, see what I can come up with, but don't expect anything great (or anything at all)...

That's pretty freaking good for a THIRD render. I would show you my third one... but you'd be pretty disappointed. ;)

Yeah, don't do that. Just think about the poor kids that look to you in admiration, learning the tragic truth behind all of it - there was a day when Setekh didn't do renders!
:D

;) It's been at least 12 months since I started rendering. Probably more. :)
