Alright, so, this isn't strictly FSO support, but I figured all you tech support types would be hanging around here. If it isn't deemed appropriate, then well, to gendisc?
So anyway.
Yesterday, my computer BSODs on me, with a "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA", and so I was all "wut.", restarted, and that was the end of that. Or so, I thought.
And then today, it gives me the same line and BSODs like, four times. So I've unplugged basically every USB device apart from the intermahnet cable (which yes, runs through a USB cable), and used system restore, to which Vista said "Hey man, I'm going to go all windows update and restart while you're in the next room." So I'm not sure how effective that was. Either way, I'm going to system restore again to a point about 4 days ago. And no, I haven't installed any new hardware or anything.
So guys, what do I do? Now I don't think I can play FS. :(

I would advise you to run a memory check and a disk check.
Also, things like these traditionally belong to GenDisc, so I'm moving it over there.
EDIT: Or not. I can't move topics to GD, apparently....

Dun that.
The support board is meant for problems and issues that occur when trying to install or play a FreeSpace game. But, even though general computer problems can give you problems running (or installing) a FreeSpace game... no. It's stretching too much.

Okay, fair enough. I'll remember that in future.
I've scheduled a disk check and a memory check for the next time I boot up the PC, so I'll found out tomorrow, hopefully. Thanks for the help.

Nvidia card? One of their driver releases a couple months ago was bad and started doing this on one of my machines. Updating the driver seems to have solved the issue (fingers crossed).
If you get the system has recovered from a serious error message click on show whats in the report and post the error code.

Oh, I've got an nvidia 7600. >_> I'll download the latest driver and see if it reoccurs. I haven't got that 'recovered from serious error' message though.

Argh, you know this is annoying when it interrupts your Vassago's Dirge sesh.
I've BSOD'd numerous times now, same page fault crap, but it says it's to do with the file 'vetefile.sys'. A google search brought up a few instances of CA antivirus causing it, so I updated manually + snoozed anti-virus and still got a BSOD.
What do I do? I'm going to try system restoring again to a point last week, but I doubt it's going to work.
