Aiming for two AA beams, four blobs, and five flak. Basic idea is that it'll eat small craft alive but have paper thin armor. (Slightly less than a Fenris, thereabouts)
Any ideas for a name?

Cordova class?
-
Was thinking of keeping with the usual naming scheme.. Mythological stuff, etc.
-
Ok, what about Rudianos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudianos) a celtic War god?
-
Grendel-class.

Updated. 2834 triangles at last count. I think it's shaping up rather nicely.

DEfinitely getting better. Any chance i can see the front?
:3 please.

It's just an empty box at the moment. I was going to c/p some Orion sensor bits in there since I'm lazy >_>
-
It looks like a gun.
-
Is it cruiser-sized?
-
It looks a lot like the Antwerpen (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/GTGs_Antwerpen), actually. :P

No, now it just looks like an Atë (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At%C3%AB)

And it has a hanger bay. Oh yeah, I went there.

Last poly count is 3263.

I think having the hanger in there is a BIG mistake. Based on your size comparison, you could barely fit a fighter into the opening, let alone make the corner. On top of that, I'm not sure where you'd be able to fit the fighters in the ship. It barely seems to have enough space for a crew. If you chose to keep it this size, I have two suggestions for you... well, three if you count the no-fighterbay suggestion. First, if you want to be able to carry fighters with this thing, use external pylons and mount them in the space on the underside between the forward and aft hull. I'd say you should be able to fit six or so Perseus in that space. Secondly, add a small superstructure on top of the back end of the forward hull. I just think that it needs something there.
That's it for now.

It's a gunship, I would not expect a fighterbay on that, I'd more or less expect a well-balanced firepower-throwing ship that poses an equal threat to both warships and fightercraft.
-
The idea was to allow it to carry stealth fighters or escape pods. There are lots of instances in campaigns where cruisers or science vessels use 'em, so I figured this would justify it a bit, even if it is a slightly smaller vessel.
-
In that case, may I suggest that you have the bay protrude OVER the forward hull. You could have it aft-swept from the tip to counter the under aft-sweep of the main forward hull.
-
Huh, and then have the bridge underslung? That might work..
Or I could just turn it into a much needed Corvette with hangerbay.
-
It may be a torpedo launcher instead. :)

Actually, one of my original suggestions is to add a small superstructure above. You could put your bridge on that.
Another option, though it would require you to delete or reposition some of what you've already done, would be to make the forward section itself as the fighterbay, and move the probe things onto what you currently have as the fighterbay.

It needs more bayonets.
