Title: CTD (sort of) with new 3.6.12 r INF build

I recently installed the new 3.6.12 r INF builds and the 5.5f launcher. Whenever I try to open FreeSpace Open, I get kicked back to the desktop but the game still runs in the background. Whenever I try to click it, I usually get sent back to the desktop, but rarely I can actually get the FSO window open. I'm sure this is a common problem, does anyone have a solution?

I encountered this before, but it was usually solved by restarting the game.

Hrm, perhaps a debug log would help? In the meantime, have you tried with an older version of the launcher? I remember the newest version causing some grief for me.

I tried restarting and that didn't work. I've added the log above but I don't see any issues with it. (But I'm not the expert!)

I overrode my 5.5d launcher, I'm going to see if I can find a dl link.

(I feel like I'm asking dumb questions but...)

Update the mediavips? I downloaded the new ones but just moved the entire folder in. Should I extract them instead?

Can I make the resolution higher while maintaining the font size. Currently, I can't read the text unless I put my face up to the screen. I definitely can't handle the font size I've seen in high res.

Read the mediavps installation instructions in the release thread. As for the resolution, the important part is to use a higher colour depth.
