That's because you're playing with a debug build, which should only be used for debugging. Switch to a release build (ends in -r or -release) by selecting it in the launcher.
-
See my reply in the WiH thread. Switch from a debug to release build for normal play.
-
See thats what i thought but this is what im using
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2
Lol i use this
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Freespace 2\fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF_SSE2.exe
Also how do you get rid of that flash that keeps apearing it keeps causing this to come up i thought you could stop it in the launcher but i cant find it.

Okay. You sure you've got that selected?
If so something is wrong with your configuration. Please switch to a debug build (ends in -d or -debug), run it, then post the debug log from /FreeSpace2/data. (it's called fs2_open.log)

No, NJSP 3002 is using outdated FSO build. Mediavps or BP2 has NO debug errors and you can play both with debug builds just fine. Performance when playing with debug build is abysmal though and not recommended.
NJSP 3002, please follow instructions and use FINAL 3.6.12 fs2_open builds. You're more than likely using some outdated release candidate.
-
no no im using up to date ones 8/3/10

No, that is not debug log. Read the instructions in this topic: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.msg1180359#msg1180359
-
Also can you tell me what you have on the top of your launcher tab what 3.6.12?

So what i download CPU-Z and then what throw it in freespace directory and run it im confused
-
Please post the fs2_open.log.
Please read the release post for both WiH AND the new MediaVPs carefully, and follow the installation instructions TO THE LETTER.
-
I've split posts related to NJSP 3002's problem from WiH discussion and merged them to this topic.
-
To get a debug log, just selesct a debug exe in the launcher, start the game and when you get to the error messages go to cancel. Now you have a file called "fs2_open.log" in your ...\FreeSpace2\data folder. That's the one.
And apart from the latest 3.6.12 exe are you ALSO useing 3.6.12 MediaVPs? And did you also download the new version of the AoA files (core, visual1, visual2) and removed the now obsolete bp-adv-core (--> http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=68213.msg1399056#msg1399056 )? Since the BP1 folder is referenced in the WiH mod.ini, I guess having outdated Age of Aquarius files might cause trouble.
-
Wait hold on during gameplay i get this flash everytime i shoot down a bomber missels or when a crusier blows up or a lot of stuff how do i get rid of that.
-
It is intended and you'd get rid of it only by editing mv_shp_exp_flashes.cfg and mv_wep_exp_flashes.cfg.

Im sorry what do you mean by that
-
The blinding flash is supposed to be there.
-
Yes but its causing the problem for me everytime it goes off that error pops-up any way to get rid of it

The problem you have is caused by a bad install. You forgot to download the Age of Aquarius patch.
Please go to the Age of Aquarius release thread, redownload Core, Visual1 and Visual2, and put them in your blueplanet directory, overwriting files already there.
-
I have two files containing blueplanet one is AOA and WIH im asking do they need to be combine in anyway

No. Not at all.
Please do exactly what I said and your problem will be fixed. Download these three files from the AoA release thread, extract them directly into your blueplanet folder (not blueplanet2).

Awesome! Have fun.

NOTE: A new BP: AoA update has been released, you must re-download BP: AoA Core, Visual 1 and Visual 2 if you downloaded them before August 7 2010. These AoA updates are required to play War in Heaven.
Can you guess were I found these sentences in bold red letters? Exactly, in the War in Heaven Release Thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70745.0)! The very thread were you found the war in heaven files you must have downloaded....
Not to mention me telling you as well, but apperently you only believed it when you got it directly from General Battuta... twice...
I hope I didn't get off too hostile, but I just couldn't keep that in....
Enjoy a very good campaign (unless you already played it through in one go, like I did today, when/if you read this ;) ).
-
Sorry butwhen i went to play war in heaven i got this the picture of it is attach to the post.

NJSP3002: Until you post an fs2_open.log, WE CANNOT HELP YOU. Read the FSO FAQ (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0) if you don't know how. Which is impossible, considering I explained how to do this to you at least once in the past.
So. If you want help, post an fs2_open.log.
-
ill get back to you on that because I'm not on my usual computer, the computer that contain my freespace info is across the states so I'm been using logmein program so what you want me to do will not work in logmein program that's why i haven't done what you asked so sorry.

In the meantime go through the release post and make sure you've done everything properly.
-

Please make sure your Age of Aquarius installation has been updated with the latest patch as of August 6. You may want to redownload Core, Visual1 and Visual 2 if you haven't already. Also, please make sure no old blueplanet files (i.e. blueplanet1.vp) are still present.
-
well done with that still wondering itits semms like tg missing in my blueplanet 2 files idk what though?
-
As I said before WE CANNOT HELP YOU WITHOUT A LOG.

You need to go through the installation instructions again and make sure you've done everything exactly right, including having both blueplanet, bluplanet2 and mediavps_3612 folders in your /FreeSpace2/ directory.
-
like i said before cant do that my friend.

No. We need you to tell us exactly what files you have where. Running a debug build, and posting the log, is the quickest and surest way to get this information.
-
Or screenshots of your FreeSpace2, blueplanet and blueplanet2 directories. Can you do those?
-
ill see what i can do
there you go.

-
Delete all the bp1 files from your blueplanet2 folder. :doubt:
And also delete the bp-adv-core.vp file from your blueplanet folder.
-
Yep, that should do it.
-
Yes you apparently didn't listen well when they said to put the bp core, visuals1, and visuals2 updates in your blueplanet folder, not your blueplanet2 folder, because you have exactly those three files in your blueplanet2 folder (as well as your blueplanet folder, so it looks like you extracted them to _both_ mod folders  )
Either way, Norbert is right. Delete bp-visual1.vp, bp-visual2.vp, and bp-core.vp from your blueplanet2 folder. Delete bp-adv-core.vp from your blueplanet folder.
Then, redownload the WiH bp2-core.7z (http://blueplanet.fsmods.net/bp2-core.7z) and extract it to your blueplanet2 folder, as there was a patch released yesterday.
-
alright ill see what happens when i get back to it.
-
Did this get fix'd?
-
Yes and thank you all of you people that posted for your help
