New Dell Alienware, 350 GB free hard disk space.
I replaced the 3.6.10 build with the 3.6.12 inferno builds plus the basic install. I also removed MediaVPs and no mods.
When ever I try to create a pilot, I get an error message that there isn't enough disk space.

Thanks in advance for your help. I am currently in Malaysia so downloading everything from scratch is not my preferred option ;)

Go to the data folder in your FS2 directory. Create a "players" directory, if it doesn't exist. Open that directory, and create the following directory tree:
players\
single\
inferno\
multi\
inferno\

it worked
thanks!!!

... Why hasn't there been coding to create those dirs if they don't exist?
-
There is. However, due to some unknown reason, it fails sometimes.
However, we won't be fixing it, as the whole issue will be fixed when the new pilot code comes around.

Out of curiosity, what folder is FreeSpace 2 installed in and what version of windows are you running?
