too late for me...  :(

Anyway, the article is well done and i strongly recommend to check it out. I also STRONGLY recommend to avoid the SPOILERS there like the plague ( unless you finished WiH already ).

Unless you were an idiot and read every spoiler there, the first big 'spoiler' is basically just fan speculation.

Why do people read things with spoiler tags and then complain that they got spoiled?

I get attracted to Spoilers like a moth to a lightsource.  :P

If that's true, I'll have to nuke it. :P

Too lazy to figure out how to edit TV Tropes...

Someone knowledgeable, may I suggest adding Crazy Prepared (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CrazyPrepared) for the GTVA/Steele? Then again, maybe not, as that seems to imply it's just plain implausible.

Also, are there any tropes that match the way those damned Tevs always run away and you can never manage to kill 'em?

In addition, Steele's flagship is the Atreus, NOT the Imperieuse (as implied by the entry on the "Out Gambitted" page).

Know When To Fold 'Em? (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KnowWhenToFoldEm)
There are others, like Villain Exit Stage Left (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VillainExitStageLeft), but that one implies cowardice, and I'm sure the GTVA doesn't suffer from this.

Thank you, thank you!

I gotta say it's pretty cool to see people signing up to post for BP.

I'm working on finally convincing my friends to try out Freespace2 with this new bargaining argument. As of now I at least got them genuinely interested in AoA and WiH for it's visuals and storyline.

Spoiler:
The Balls of Steele, or BoS, AI-class ships escorting the GTD Imperieuse in Delenda Est
I'm pretty sure this is false.

Or does it even matter?

It is false, and yes it matters. They are Little Devil class but not Balls of Steele. The only place BoS is used in R1, iirc, is with maxed-out weapons energy on The Blade Itself.

The AI are still cheating bastards with Little Devil, no? Just to a lesser extent.

Nope, I believe Little Devil is just maxed out - nothing actually breaks the 1.0 barrier.

It is maxed out on every difficulty level iirc

Little Devil is for mission-critical ships that need to do something without fail at any difficulty level. The highest general-combatant AI is BP2-General.

Balls of Steele is the cheating AI for special occasions.

Ah crap, I wrote that. Must have crossed wires somewhere. At least it's fixed now. :nervous:

You know, we could make a thread on the TvTropes forum requesting VAs for BP. I'm sure a few would accept, at least!

I don't think the problem with the VAing effort is a lack of auditions, but rather the amount of work.

More auditions always help. Getting actors to get their lines in is the second hurdle after annotating their scripts.
