Title: On flying
Post by: azile0 on August 11, 2010, 01:11:40 am
I fell in love with the Kentauroi. So I'm making a little series of videos with the Kentauroi as the main character. I fly around different scenarios and pull off some fun stunts. The series is in it's early stages. I'm by no means a veteran FREDer or Video editor. I'm looking mainly for feedback at this stage.

"Episode" one is out. It's the Single mission that came with the campaign where you fly around Rheza, but I ignored the buoys and went right for the station. Episode two is in Windows Movie Maker now, I'll put it up here in a bit.

Episode two- When victory is assured.

Episode three- When defeat is imminent

One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuWD7rGTBnM)
Two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfOTPrVBgYw)
Three (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUzu4fJcQMY)
Four (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEmhnelTo-U)

Quick edit: Is anybody else seeing choppiness in the video? My saved file is smooth, but the YouTube version is jittery.

So zen and soothing. The_E did a nice job with this mission and its atmospherics. I should go out there and play around with a Kent too.

You can try it in a Lao Tze too.

I'll use the Lao Tze in the episodes where I don't make a difference. Episode two will be "When victory is assured", Episode three will be, "When defeat is imminent"

You have to do a suicidal run on the
Spoiler:
Gef squadron at the end of "Deals in Shadows".

I'll take a look at it. :D

Edit: Gave it a go, killed them all with more than 80% hull left, with 15 kills myself. It doesn't look good if you kill all of your enemies on a "You're screwed" themed scenario.

Edit 2: Episode two is up.

Yes it does, that's why there's dialog contingencies for just that.

But just for you...

I got three of them before i even noticed i was supposed to jump out.  I thought attacking them might buy us points with the Vasudans :P

After I noticed the depart order and that my wingmates already had, I realized I was in for an extremely irritating fight if I continued and tried to warp out.  I thought I ran far enough away to be able to jump, but one last missile caught up with me RIGHT when I hit 40 m/s and delayed the jump long enough for them to assrape me with their primaries.

Upcoming patch has some...enhancements for the m13 Gef threat.

"Do a barrel roll!"

I can see why you love the Kent. I usually give it fast-firing weapons, like the vulcan. Loved how it handled but using reverse trust to fire at chasing enemies was rather risky! ;)

Ditto.  I ran that mission 3 times trying to do something about the Gef at the end and finally gave up.

I had the Lao Tze pair helping me. Were they supposed to do that?
