There aren't that many people who do use freetrack or similar stuff. Be patient.

Well you need to have the FreeTrack program and hardware working (so that you can see the view changing in FreeTrack's 3D head window).

Then, assuming you're using the FSO 3.6.12, which you should, you need the TrackIR DLL, which can be found from the release thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70692.0).

Of course, you'll need to set the FreeTrack profile to use appropriate settings, but that's up to you to configure as you like, I can't really help on that count.

You have to set it to use the TrackIR interface and de-select the other options (such as Freetrack interface, mouse, FSUIPC etc, I forgot what the exact available options are).

That should do the trick... :nervous:

You're welcome, but is this a trick question...?

Why don't you try and see if it works? :nervous: If the controller works in the game, it should be fairly obvious.

i've tried to disable all the features and left only trackir (however i try all combinations but no success, the trackir move the ship not the pov.)

Post screenshots of the FreeTrack program and how you have things configured. That should refresh my memory as to how it should be set up.

If the views work in FreeTrack, things should work just fine in FS2_Open too.

Urgh, no idea. What build are you using? It should work all right...

You do have the program running and showing green light on the task bar icon while you run the game?

And just to confirm, you have the scptrackir.dll (10240 bytes) in ..\FreeSpace2\ directory?

You could try something more recent, like Antipodes 7 build, but it should be working right fine.

Only other thing I can think of is checking that FreeTrack's profile system doesn't do something stupid such as automatically switch to a profile where the movement axes are disabled, or some such stuff.

This kind of things are really a pain in the neck to troubleshoot remotely. :blah:

I don't really use any other forums, but around here, double-posting or even triple-posting won't make anyone respond faster. Post your question or whatever and wait. When people with answers stumble upon the thread, they will respond.

If no one has responded within a week, then maybe double-post.

And sorry no. I know nothing about Freetrack.

Ah, UAC issues.

Turning UAC is not recommendable in principle, as it undermines the system security plus. Could you try having UAC on but running FreeTrack as Administrator?
