There aren't that many people who do use freetrack or similar stuff. Be patient.

Well you need to have the FreeTrack program and hardware working (so that you can see the view changing in FreeTrack's 3D head window).
Then, assuming you're using the FSO 3.6.12, which you should, you need the TrackIR DLL, which can be found from the release thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70692.0).
Of course, you'll need to set the FreeTrack profile to use appropriate settings, but that's up to you to configure as you like, I can't really help on that count.

thanks herra, but what i have to do in the launcher for activate freetrack?
EDIT: i reach to run like a controller the freetrack but my head controls the ship and not the pov.plus i need to use the joystick like controller and not my head ;) please help
-
You have to set it to use the TrackIR interface and de-select the other options (such as Freetrack interface, mouse, FSUIPC etc, I forgot what the exact available options are).
That should do the trick... :nervous:
-
thanks a lot herra... i'll try soon... and in fso launcher can i set my x52 pro as controller?

You're welcome, but is this a trick question...?
Why don't you try and see if it works? :nervous: If the controller works in the game, it should be fairly obvious.
-
i've tried to disable all the features and left only trackir (however i try all combinations but no success, the trackir move the ship not the pov.)
don't know what i can do

Post screenshots of the FreeTrack program and how you have things configured. That should refresh my memory as to how it should be set up.

tanks herra, but i discovered is a webcam problem... i'll buy another one then i'll try...thanks for your help brother!

If the views work in FreeTrack, things should work just fine in FS2_Open too.
-
ok guys... now my freetrack cam works with my trackclip pro... question is:
the skull in the freetrack interface works pretty fine, but don't work in freespace2...
WHAT THE HELL have i to configure output options? and have i to change something in the fs2launcher settings? :hopping:
remember i've still installed the correct ddl. :)
Thanks again for the support!
-
I have both FreeTrack and TrackIR interfaces selected in the Outputs option.
-
me too herra....but not works... i really don't know why... in the launcher need i to change something?
i have put the dll file in the main fs2 folder...is ok?
any help guys? :sigh:
-
Urgh, no idea. What build are you using? It should work all right...
You do have the program running and showing green light on the task bar icon while you run the game?
-
i'm usin g 3.6.12 build and yes i have green light....meh... WHAT THE......
-
And just to confirm, you have the scptrackir.dll (10240 bytes) in ..\FreeSpace2\ directory?
You could try something more recent, like Antipodes 7 build, but it should be working right fine.
Only other thing I can think of is checking that FreeTrack's profile system doesn't do something stupid such as automatically switch to a profile where the movement axes are disabled, or some such stuff.
This kind of things are really a pain in the neck to troubleshoot remotely. :blah:
-
thank you so much herra.... you try to help me....i'll try to chech the files and let you know....thanks again for the support
:) :) :)
ok people... i'm not able to run freetrack in freespace...are you sure i don't have to activate something from the launcher or something else?
anyone else? (apart the poor herra :) )
-
I don't really use any other forums, but around here, double-posting or even triple-posting won't make anyone respond faster. Post your question or whatever and wait. When people with answers stumble upon the thread, they will respond.
If no one has responded within a week, then maybe double-post.
And sorry no. I know nothing about Freetrack.
-
thanks anyway... i still waiting
EDIT: if freetrack don't work try to turn off user account control in the control panel and reboot your pcit should work.
Thanks for your time herra!

Ah, UAC issues.
Turning UAC is not recommendable in principle, as it undermines the system security plus. Could you try having UAC on but running FreeTrack as Administrator?

tomorrow i'll try and let you know if it works
