Title: Cockpit view for Blueplanet?

I was wondering if there was any mod to add a cokpit view to ship in blue planet, or any other mod, i dont wnna use trackir either.

I couldnt find a mod anywhere on the forums, so i was wondering if there is a public release.

well, someone made a inofficial one for WiH, it enables cockpit view via "show ship" flag.
But there seems to be an issue, as playing with this mod fraks the messages that are displayed.

We figured out the issue. Someone should repost it.

well, someone made a inofficial one for WiH, it enables cockpit view via "show ship" flag.
But there seems to be an issue, as playing with this mod fraks the messages that are displayed.

We figured out the issue. Someone should repost it.

The table made improper use (or didn't use?) nocreate.

Wrong. It didn't use +noreplace (Needs to be inserted after each $Flags: line).

There's another problem, but it can be fixed by now.
Glass was reflecting things on both sides, so "show ship" would make flying really difficult.
I've got a fix for that, but it's an ugly hack.

nice, thanks, but ive installed in both freelancer data et blueplanet2 data and it still doesnt work.

installing it in BP2 isn't the best choice.
Place it a new folder which you should name Cockpitmod.
Place the datafolder in the cockpits folder, move it to your main FS2 folder.
Start the launcher, go to features tab, custom flag field and add this line:

-mod Cockpitmod

hit apply. Enjoy

Keep in mind the Uriel and Durga need some adjusting on their .pofs to have panel textures, as they are now most of the cockpit textures are labled 'invisible.'

I tried out the cockpit view already (while still waiting for my TrackIr 5 package... ;7). Works fine so far in the missions, however in the part of the intro cutscene where the view changes to the frigate being hammered by Tev beams, the view is blocked by a distorted face texture.
Probably the spacesuit "cockpit" or whatever was used to jump to the changed viewpoint... I don't really know how cutscenes are done in this regard.

Just a heads up that there's still issues with it.

Thanks, but I did use the fixed .tbm.

I think this issue is not related to missing flags because of missing +noreplace in the table, but to some technique used in the making of the cutscene (which surely were not created or tested with cockpit view in mind).
I haven't played further so don't know about the other cutscenes yet.

I'd like to say that the cockpits on the Uhlan, Kentauroi and Duriel look and work great (now I can finally SEE when my Archer is ready to fire on the Duriel. And that muzzle flash, too!  :D :yes: ). So, apart from some possible blocked views during cutscenes, WiH part 1 should be fully enjoyable with cockpit view enabled.

P.S.: Can't see **** on the Lao Tze, though...  :doubt:

The fix was for the strange behavior with comms message. Concerning the Intro cutscene, it's more related to the scene (fs2 file) or ideally to the pof file (the viewpoint is set incorrectly).
