Alright. I've got a model. I've converted it with POF2FS2 and have successfully played it in Freespace 2 with the guns and missiles etc working.
The problem is...I need shields, and other LODs would be nice. if anyone could take a few minutes out of their time to explain how to do this with Truespace 1 and POFCS. An example would probably suffice too

I'm no expert, but shields can be made with either Modelview32 or segeltuch, I think.
-
Or make a shield mesh in TS1 and name it shield... Segeltuch has bugy pof code when saveing. Use Modelview32beta4, to import a shield mesh from another pof.
-
To use Segeltuch to do shields, edit a copy of the POF and then import them on the real POF. :) I gave an ARMD cruiser shields using it a long time ago. (Of course, they didn't conform to the hull but it was just an experiment.)
Edit: Import using ModelView32 that is. :)

Thanks guys, just what I was looking for

That's smart. :) I was trying to get around the Segeltuch bug for weeks before I gave up; that's a great solution.:yes:

ya, like me. how do you get shields to work on a capital ship anyhow? is it just like the fighters and bombers?
