Title: Turret Location Viewer?
Post by: StargateSpankyHam on August 17, 2010, 03:13:14 pm
Is there a way to view where each individual turret is on a ship? I have an SD Vassago in my present mod, and trying to get the turrets to show up in the right spots is going to be quite difficult. I'd like a fairly even dispersion of anti-figher/warhead point defense weapons, and a few heavy anti-bomber/cruiser-spam weapons. The turrets at the tips of the pylons will probably end up being SReds or heavy anti-warship plasma cannons, a few 'major' turrets will end up being bomb launcher, and the four heavy weapons up front are presently plasma torpedo cannons.

Without such a tool or program, mapping a destroyer's turrets would take...hours. Maybe days. And considering that I am pretty much going to edit every ship in the game for weapon turrets (juggs and superjuggs included), it would seem wise to have such a utility.

Place ship in FRED. Mark ship. Press "k". See where turrets and other subsystems are.

Or open up the model in modelview or PCS2. You can cycle through all the turrets and subsystems, then match them up to the table entry.
