"Damage lightning looks weird."
* Some people have described it as "flickering white triangles". Regardless of the description, it is naturally wrong. Download this shader fix pack and place extract the .vp from it to \freespace2\mediavps\ .
Have the issue mentioned in the FAQ but the fixed shaders don't seem to work for me on MediaVPS 3.6.12. Just placed the included VP into the mediavps folder. Do I have to do anything else to make it working with the new MediaVPS?
Using SSE2 Inferno build of FSO 3.6.12, Win7 64 bits, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 4 GB RAM, Radeon Mobility HD4570

you need to place the fixed shaders into the mediavps_3612 folder.
-
That's exactly what I did. Still broken.

Please post an fs2_open.log.

Never mind, it's fixed now.
Must have missed something before. Anyway, thanks for your help. :)

Okay, wait.
Still got the issue. Strange, on a fighter in one mission it looked fine, now there are white triangles all over again.
And sorry for the triple post. *bump*

I found that I had to delete my pilot after I changed anything in mvps for the changes to take effect.
-
Errr, no. You had a corrupted pilot file, this is a different issue.
-
Did you check for updated drivers?
-
We dealt with it over IRC. Yes, a driver update (via a detour called ATI Mobility Modder) solved this.
