Title: I post this with the utmost hesitation...
Post by: MP-Ryan on August 24, 2010, 11:29:22 pm
...because it's going to open the ridiculous debate that comes up around here every month or two, but I figure the rational folks deserve the additional information.  So I'll just leave this here for your reading pleasure.

I have been intentionally vague as to the subject material thus far to avoid feeding the trolls, who have a nasty habit of congregating under bridges and successfully breeding with members of the same sex to pollute discourse on this subject... which is irony at its finest.

I digress.  Enjoy reading:

So much for the "it's not in nature" arguement. Wonder what other bullocks they'll come up with next?

Well Trashman can't post here so we're spared his usual bollocks on the subject.

I already knew about homosexuality in animals !!!!! in general.

But this seems to be focusing on birds. Odd choice of article title, although obviously this is yet another of those "dumbed down for the plebeians" articles...

Thing is, homosexuality in animals has been proved for years, but every time it's mentioned the Homophobes just bury their head in the sand and pretend not to hear, I don't doubt it will happen again.

Or they claim that humans are distinct from animals... maybe even being so naive as to claim that what makes us different from animals is "morals". Which is, of course, a load of bologna.

Mmmm, bologna.

I have here a graph that quite adequately sums up the matter:

The colors on that chart are all wrong, though. It should be appropriately red for "Russia invades" and pink for "Gays marry", leaving blue for "Ice caps melt" :D

According to certain groups who consider gay marriage not the best thing to do, humans aren't exactly like animals...

... personally that seems like they're burying their heads in the sand while shouting 'LA LA LA LA,' when it comes to just how similar we are.

On a lighter note:

Perhaps Judgement Day should be a black color or something.  Neon green just feels kinda.... eh.

Yeah. Ice caps melt should go to a light shade of blue, while families are destroyed should be changed to a deep, dark blue (blue is the colour of lonelyness, so we use that one :) ). And Judgement Day should indeed be black.

Judgement (screw off Firefox, I prefer this spelling) day should be black, with radiating flames and flying bat-skulls.  Maybe a lightning bolt.

Just because it's vaguely related to the commonality between humans and animals, and kind of cute :)

Edit: Just wish they'd posted the gender of the Macaque to be honest, it would help differentiate between this being a maternal instinct thing (like a Swan adopting a Duckling) or an actual incident of 'empathy'.

The report is from two days ago, how new does it have to be?

Edit: Or are you saying something along the lines that, since one murder has been reported, that no other murders ever need to be reported again?

Evolution has been known for 172 years, there's no point discussing it any more then?

I think there is a point in discussing it in school.

Prevents folks from taking the 'Pokemon Evolution' thing seriously and believing that melons will evolve to watermelons.

Now hold on, ice-caps can't melt because global warming isn't real and it's all a satanic, liberal lie. I mean, the Earth will only end when judgement day comes, so we don't have to worry about it, right?

*puts on BP cap*. I'm a good republican.
