I have been messing about with the weapons tbm, and always thought why did the vasudans use mainly terran weapons on there capships except for the beams. So i took a little insperation from the Blueplanet pulse weapons and created these. A vasudan turret and huge turret, Vasudan Pulse turrets to replace flak and a more vasudan AAAf. Don't know if anyone would be interested in these.

and heres the file for it. These where created within the Blue Planet 2 WiH mod so and thats what i have been testing it in along with the AI in the mod

Here are some more screens hope these a better quality than the last. Dunno why that happened? Screens where taken with the AI setting of BALLS OF STEELE, and wow on that setting everything goes crazy!

So your 'huge' turret has a trail, and all of them have large muzzle flashes?
Interesting choice in leaving them green. I suppose it could be justified, if the Terrans and Vasudans are drawing from the same technological base for their weaponry, with only a few relatively superficial changes...
If I were you I'd modify the front of the trail (or the trail as a whole) to better blend with the laser bitmap.

No i have no Huge turrets on that ship, the ones with the trails is the Vaspulse and the other is the bog standard Vasudan turret, the reason its firing like no tomorrow is because i am playing it on BP2 balls of steele, on normal ai captain it fires more like terran turret. i have put a video on you tube to show it of better. Again i am playing using the BP2 ais.

Edit: Ok well, I still think the trails could blend in a little better with the laser bitmap. Also, the muzzle flash is cool... although I can't help but think it'd be even cooler if it extended in the direction of fire... though I'm fairly sure that's not yet doable.

Maybe if the muzzle flash could be set up to use something like the laser renderer... with a directed billboard (like the laser 'bitmap') and an omnidirectional billboard (like the 'glow' / current muzzle flash system)... it might even be doable now with scripting, although it'd probably be slower and kind of hackish.

There's an AI called Little Devil, which has everything at 100%, Balls of Steele is 150%.
Of course, I've asked about it before, I think twice on the discussion thread, and nobody said a word about it. :doubt:

Balls of Steele is used in The Blade Itself for when you set your weapons energy to full.
It makes your turrets fire faster.
According to Battuta, that's all its used for.
Little Devil is used for a few other things, such as that Titan destroyer's escorts, which's name I will not mention cause it is a spoiler.

How would i blend it better, would it be done from the trail part of the table ie.

Well you'd have to be careful. Stuff like the Vasudan pulse weapon will change balance significantly.

Not with a table! With a custom trail texture!

As battuta say's putting these into the retail would change the balance. The only one you could do is the AAAv beam as it is a straight copy of the AAAf. The only changes i made were to change the blue beam into a yellow one. I didn't alter anything else. Easiest thing to do is change the aaafs on the vasudan ships in the ship.tbl or tbm and change the aaaf's to aaav. The turret weapons would change the balance of the game, as i made alterations to the weapons as increase the rate of fire and speed, but lowering the damage and adding a field of view so the weapon has a chance of missing. If you want the weapon effect in best thing to do is copy the terran turret and huge terran turret and just change the colour and bitmap and save them as Vasudan Turret and Huge Vasudan Turret, that way balance isn't effect as its just cosmetic changes to the weapon.
Oh yeah how stupid of me, cheers aardwolf, totally went brain dead about that.
