If you voted in the Blue planet poll then you already know the drill.
You've got 12 votes, try not to vote two contradictory options.
Let's me hear it :)

I found a Spoon
And a Vassago and Ketrans. Hmmm...
I got the LSF Hound through M5
Easy as pie!
I lost the LSF Volley in M8
First time playing it, I lost it.
I picked the Ray E
I prefer speed and maneuverability, but not at too much cost in armor.
I got Crystal as the pilot in M15 (Infiltration)
I DESTROY THE CORE.
I managed 3-4 motherships in M15
3 Motherships. Kinda hard to get more.
[/b]I could select the Hazel bomber in M23[/b]
It feels weird flying the thing, but I got it.
I was having an easy time in the last mission.
Perhaps it was that I tested this mission to death during the beta phase, but I had no problem.
I called in Nanoha
I tried the MSM-99-D in the playground
MOAR SPAM
Infi did the right thing
Self sacrifice is hard, but it can be the right thing if it's done for the greater good.
WHARS MY CRYSTALXMISUZU VOTE OPTIONS? >=(
-
I got the LSF Hound through M5
Wasn't terribly hard. Hound got out with under 20% hull I think, but the pressure on it wasn't continous so after a point it was reasonably safe.
I saved the LSF Volley in M8
It didn't make it out which much left, I think 4% hull, but it made it out.
I picked the Ray E
The Ray 3E's drop in shields/armor didn't seem to be that great over the regular Ray 3 since I stopped dead for a few moments with each to check. The Ray 3W's drop in manuverability, however, made it difficult to engage and destroy Cordi ships fast enough to reduce incoming damage and survive in the long term.
I got Misuzu as the pilot in M15 (Infiltration)
Though looking back on the dialogue it does sound like it maybe should have been Crystal. Your Schrondinger's-fu was a little weak.
I destroyed more then 5 motherships in M15
I got to six, but by then I was down to 13 percent hull from numerous collisions. While I did lose forward shields once, I only took 10% damage before I noticed and reequalized, and I took the time to charge up while inside and safe. It was clear, though, that even if I took the mission from the top many more times than I actually did I wasn't ever going to make it to eight. (It took me a couple of tries to precisely time the afterburner use for a proper escape.)
I could select the Hazel bomber in M23
The Hazel is decidely different from the other ships in both method and durablity. I actually rather enjoyed flying it, though I think its shields are somewhat weak for the role.
I was doing neither in the last mission.
Taking a third option here. It took me two tries; on the first, I wasn't inflicting damage fast enough and the ship jumped. On the second, I didn't manuver because of my experience on the first and being unable to kill the reactors fast enough and the interior guns got me. It wasn't, however, that the last mission was actually difficult so much as that it was so radically different from all previous missions I wasn't prepared for how to do it.
I called in Nanoha
Oh man, there was an option for this and I missed it? Damnation. I'm like the only real Nanoha fanboy on the boards too. :P
Infi shouldn't have sacrificed himself
Infi did the right thing
I'm pretty sure that between the LSF and Infi it would have been possible to disable the flagship, if he had revealed it was capable of such a thing to the LSF beforehand. His sacrifice was necessary at the time, but it was necessary because he made mistakes beforehand. Both answers are valid at the same time. :/
Oh, and obligatory Snuffleupagus here.

I was bouncing around like a pinball in the last mission (WTF WITH THAT! , I replayed that mission at least 10 times! :p)
I called in Nanoha
Infi did the right thing (infi rulez man!)
-
I originally got 4 motherships in the infiltration mission but died on my way out. On my second try I just got the first two and bailed.
-
I don't remember most...since, well, it was a while ago, but uh...
The motherships: I tried doing it "the proper way" and only got 3 before I died, but I got like 5-6 motherships by shooting their reactors from the outside (there's an angle from where you can do that) :nervous: I bailed after that though cause I was taking damage fast.
-
Since the whole thread is titled as a big spoiler, why all the spoiler tags?
Anyway I was bouncing around "only" on my first two tries. Since I was playing on easy it didn't cause much damage, but got me so disoriented that I didn't find the next waypoint and had to restart.
After that I got some problems with either not being fast enough or being shot up in the tight tunnels too much (I died twice on my way out after destroying the generators.... which was rather frustrating).
What determins which of the girls you play as in M15?
-
Crystal.
-
Crystal.
Err, I think his question was "What determines whether you fly as Crystal or Misuzu?"
-
If you destroy the reactor of the Adasya in M13 Bughunt you'll get the Crystal version of M15. (Which is slightly easier due to the ship having slightly better stats and the ability to call in a reinforcement distraction wing in the mission). If you don't, you'll get Misuzu.
Also, the Hazel unlocks if you complete the secondary objective in M17 (The planetary siege simulation with Infi & Dawn)

Ah, so if it hadn't run me over... :P
-
Wait only 2 people thought M16 was too hard?! That mission was ****ed up (ie. mildly challenging).
-
You can call in Nanoha? Where?
Gotta try that, I bet she'll put out a rave that'll put Inferno to shame.

The mission with the box.
-
Nope, not ringing any bells.
-
It's under single missions, not in the campaign.
-
'Yatta'?
-
Yes.
-
Apperently you never watched Heroes in english....
It's japanese and while I don't know the exact translation it means something like "yes" (though not the answer yes - that would be hai), "I did it" or simply "woooooohhooooooo". Come to think of it I would have expected at least one "yare, yare" coming from Misuzu :P
-
Misuzu is more the type that makes other people go "yare, yare" :p
-
Namely Crystal
-

What, no obligatory baka reference?

YOU CAN CALL IN NANOHA? :eek2:
How did I miss this? *goes to search*
EDIT: lulz, that was epic.
Anyway, Spoon, you really needed to make the entrance on the Cordi motherships more noticeable. I looked all over, couldn't find it, and just blasted them apart from the outside. ;)
-
Entrance? You mean where you get behind the engine to disable the reactor in that one mission? You're going into the shields but it's not really an "entrance" per se... you just fire at the engine
[EDIT] Just checked the POF. Um, OK, well I didn't know that was there :wtf:
-
Haha...yeah I told Spoon about the being able to blow up their reactors from the outside but he CBA'ed to fix the model. Rather, he's redone that particular one so many times he doesn't want to do it again.
Well, you're exploiting a model bug in a mission called exploit so whatever. :P
-
(http://i54.tinypic.com/dhcqb5.jpg) It's in the command briefing.
But yes, what Droid said. I absolute hate the mothership model. It's a bugged piece of *lots of ranting here* that has wasted several of my days. You can hit the reactor from the outside because near hits on a subobject do damage too (its a freespace radius thing) after droid told me this was possible, I just couldn't care about it anymore.
-
How in the bloody hell can you get Crystal in M15?!
-
HEIL DER GRAMMATIK SS!
There's no 'e' in 'hangar', which is the place where air/spacecraft are stored.
How in the bloody hell can you get Crystal in M15?!
Destroy the Adasya's reactor in M12.
-
No, I think we've discussed the fact that Cordi fighters are stored HANGING in the HANGAR, which is why it is a clever pun to call it a HANGER. :P It HANGS fighters. :D
-
Ack nein! Ze grammatik SS
Erhm, yes... what Droid said. Surely!
*cough*
How in the bloody hell can you get Crystal in M15?!
Destroy the Adasya's reactor in M12.
Close, M13 Bughunt would be the one ;)
-
Please no-english-german mix^^
Who is Nanoha?
How I get the MSM-99 or whatever?
Bouncing and then I´d follow the wrong way and through some empty hall :wtf:
BTW you have to say: Ach Nein! Die SS (OMG) Grammatik! That´s the correct spell
-
BTW you have to say: Ach Nein! Die SS (OMG) Grammatik! That´s the correct spell
ANGRY GERMAN POWERS, ACTIVATE!
Actually, your grammar is wrong. And your word choice reflects a lack of knowledge regarding german speech. The really correct form would be "Oh Nein! Die Grammatik-SS!"
-
Angry German powers?
I missunderstanded what Spoon means.
So who´s Nanoha?
-
This girl (http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/2366/nanoha.jpg), from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, an anime series. She's really fond of beamspamming and 'befriending' the crap out of her enemies with said beamspam.
Go to the Tech Lab, select mission simulator and play the 'Yatta!' missioin. Call in reinforcements, select 'Nanoha'.
-
Incidentally, the beam attack the ship pretending to be Nanoha does is this one. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBunw-BxydQ)
It's one of her mid-power attacks. Her real firepower is... a lot more impressive.
(Was expecting Starlight Breaker... was disappoint. :()
-
Oh crap  *after see Starlight Breaker*
Thanks for the info.
-
(Was expecting Starlight Breaker... was disappoint. :()
Why would she befriend a container?
-
She befriended a book once. Why not?
-
That book was a hot girl and had three other hot girls inside. The container has nothing going for it.
-
That you know of, anway.
It is an interesting question, though, Spoon... why did Nanoha attempt to befriend a box?
-
Fools!
You underestimate the power of the mighty cube!
-
It better be full of hot girls.
-
It is an interesting question, though, Spoon... why did Nanoha attempt to befriend a box?
It was more a demonstration. She does those now y'know, being a trainer.
-
Ah, so it's StrikerS-era Nanoha. That makes sense.
-
I picked the Ray E
Yeah, I really wish more ships had glide and directional thrusters, rail-mode is no fun. Also the ships that could glide could not use directional thrusters while gliding.
I got Crystal as the pilot in M15 (Infiltration)
...And ended up having the run the asteroid gauntlet with 13% hull. I made it to the end at 1% (on my fifth~ go, yeah, my own fault for being reckless in the previous mission, oh well.)
I destroyed only 2 motherships in M15
I find it really hard to manuever into position for shooting subsytems without sideways-thrust ability, couldn't be bothered to do any more.
I thought M16 was too hard
Until I realised there were huge bombs hitting my ships that I should shoot down, then it was somewhat stressfull, long, but quite fun. Tell me in the damn breifing please?
I was having an easy time in the last mission.
Those corrirdors are hard to navigate.
Infi did the right thing.
Shipon won't be happy though.
The music was awesome. Though I went for the last few missions without it for some reason, I thought it was done on purpose for dramatic effect, and was going to come back at an awesome moment. Must have been a bug though. Oh well.
When Infi is killing himself, I had to re-bind my controls to default to do it, kind of ruined the moment having to re-bind my controls twice.
I ended up abusing time compression to complete M25. The dogfight at the beginning took too long for me to take it seriously more than twice... bloody ravagers.
The graphics are pretty ****, but I'm sure you know that and in fact, I don't even care, it was a lot of fun to play.
Maybe tone down the tentacle related jokes, you're just enforcing a stereotype, and probably pushing away potential players.
I noticed a few typos.
Hire some Japs if you're doing voice-overs, I dread to ever hear this **** in English.
Overall, ****ing good mod. I enjoyed the hell out of it, being the exact target audience.
-
I bounced around like a pinball in the last mission. :nervous:
-
Thanks for the review SabOo

Well uuuh... It's a big blanket statement you do there. I'm quite happy with how a lot of my effects turned out. And considering I had to do everything by myself I think the models are passable.
Now excuse as I got on a slightly offtopic rant here (which is not directed to SabOo) but I see a lot of people giving credit to BP:WiH for looking incredible, even though they just used public released unoptimized steve-o models that have been used in a few mods before. But WoD with all its hours of work in making hand made custom stuff just get labelled as '****ty looking' and that kinda stings. :doubt:
Maybe tone down the tentacle related jokes, you're just enforcing a stereotype,
I'm making fun of (or at least, trying to) stereotypes.
I dread to ever hear this **** in English.
Don't worry, never gonna happen :p
-
I like the designs of WoD, and I think I said so in the past too. And I like how much difference there is in the style of the species (the only exception being the similarity between Promethus frame and Zy ships... I know I witnessed too much :shaking:).
Well... there are some points I'm not too fond of (in particular the Skirmishers upper plate.... thingy), but that's only to be expected with that number of models. The vast majority looks great and what's even more important, they fit in very well.
What good is the best looking ship, if it looks totally out of place?
-
I was mainly talking about the ship texturing and shaders, I know it's pretty much the hardest part, the thing is, you don't notice things when they look right, but you do when they look wrong. I don't remember the effects ever looking bad. The ships are passable. As I said; it didn't effect my enjoyment.
-
It's because you Auto-UV, Spoon.
Takes all the fun out of texturing cause max's auto-UV does the job (of putting everything onto the square), but its jumbled ****.
The models are fine. Its just the lazy UV :P
Of course, UVmapping is boring and all and takes an asston of time...
-
It's because you Auto-UV, Spoon.
I have bettered my ways recently

Alas that texture artist spot is still open, doesn't seem like there is a lot of free texture talent on hlp :(
Well I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway
-
:bump:
And at long last, I finished the campaign... I blame myself for refusing to drop the difficulty below medium, and then ragequitting for months. Ah well.
I did find a spoon!
Got the LSF Hound through, and I enjoyed seeing it again later. It's much better than bonus points or something.
Can't remember what happened with the Volley, but I think it died.
Picked the Ray-E, because I went with the -W first but died.
Got Crystal in "Infiltration"
I destroyed more than 5 motherships, but then buggered out.
I thought most missions were too hard, so I'm sure that 16 was as well. Was that "Hold the Line?" If so then ZOMGyes.
Didn't even notice the Hazel bomber, so I'm gonna say "no"
Pinball: yes, very much so
Played around a bit in the playground after reading this thread, and did the stuff
Infi did the right thing. He didn't have much of a choice at that point if wanted to be not a huge jerk.
So, yep, there we go. Great job Spoon!
-
Thanks :)
-
What do I have to do to get Misuzu in the infiltration mission? I just replayed the hole campaign and got Crystal again.
-

Don't DESTROY THE CORE destroy the reactor on the Adasya in M14
-
The first two times I played that misison, i read "disable the Adesya" and did that... Took out the engines and weapons and waited, till the Skirmisher arrived and blew it to pieces.
Untill I read it in this thread I never knew you were allowed to blow that ship up yourself, much less it's a bonus objective
-
For me I failed to blow up the Adasya because I was a bit unused to having nothing on my monitor (Make a cockpit view for the Ray I, Spoon!) and couldn't shift my ETS properly. Then I got beat up by the homing mis- lasers before it jumped out...so hidoi. Uhh...mean.
-
I remember getting the request to blow up the adyasa's reactor... I remember trying to do that at least 3 times but I just got blasted away by those frikking sweepers, so in the 4th replay I just forgot about it and went along with the other objectives...
Will try it again sometime during the week
-

So I just happened to do it an hour or so ago halfway through my run-through.
I tailgated Sera 2 and let the Adasya's lasers get distracted by Sera 2 and Cherubims (not cannon fodder, honest!), went zenryoku zenkai with the engines (not any ounce to shields and lasers) into the Adasya's shields and let loose. The EMP cannon blew up the reactor in quite a few shots. I timed my approach and angle, going from the bottom. There wasn't any time to go directly underneath it, so I went in diagonally.
