Actually, it's more of a lighting test. If it sucks I'll replace it with the original light setup.
As usuall I didn't bother with Engine lights. Maybe I'll stick some on the cruisers/corvettes.

Made in MAX.

GREAT JOB. encore.
just have better textures on the deimos.
-
The Orion looks wayyyy too bright. The fighters are all facing in one direction, which makes it look artificial. And thats bad, m'kay. Also... no nebula??? :(
-
mmh, stars are ugly :p
I have nothing against the orion being too... bright, obviously it's highlightened from this side, the shadows are dark enough, so it's a good contrast.
Also, there's nothing bad with having all fighters facing the same way ( pilots would be dumb if they were flying the other way, no?), just avoid having the 4 ships of a wing on the exact same level.
Voila :)
-
It's pretty good, but it needs better textures on the nearby Deimos. Also you could use some anti-aliasing (not too important) on the nearby Deimos - some edges seem to have it, but not all.
Also, those start don't look good. :p
-
Which nearby Deimos?
-
1 thing, thats not deimos... It looks like bad textured destroyer.

There updated.
Turned down the spec. level on the Orion and altered position on most fighters etc.
As for the Deimos textures - Those are the ones from the game with noise maps in the bump, spec. level and Glossiness slots. This looks ok, but not spectacular.
The image is AAd, even though the shadows are jagged.
-
I think by 'Deimos' they meant your big destroyer.
-
Hey, Ryx can i texture that destroyer of yours??? To look a bit better ;)
-
I'm quite happy with the textures.
I could've added the bump maps,but I didn't feel like it. :p
-
The stars look artificial. The Orion is too bright. Could definitely use some engine glows on the big ships to know that they're moving. What the hell is the big ship in the foreground?
Fighters aren't that bad though. Okay job, add some nebulas next time I think to spice up the background a little.

I'm not adding nebulas. You don't need nebulas to make good looking pics. Besides they look kinda fake anyway.

 You told me you can't model/texture so why want to texture this one as it will proberly look ugly. And the textures are looking fine. If he bump maps it, it will look better.
-
Looks good, thought it could use a bit of AA....
You might want some engine glows too.. I just noticed that Aeolus...
-
Aeolus? What? I thought that was a turret or something... I see, now... ;)
The destroyer upfront; while you may be happy with the texture job, it looks real out of place next to the rest of the FS ships...
-
It won't look out of place with some other models I've made.
I hope to show off that render someday too. This render, though, Is basically the same just different ships (sort off) and lighting.
RE: AA. the models are AAd, just not the shadows. I have experimented with blurring those shadows, but they come out looking really bad.
-
those stars are damnd ugly, the textures on your new ship are crap.....but hell nice pic anyway!
-
I hate to be really negative, but those textures suck, bigtime. They're too flat, too ugly.... get new ones, and fast!
For some hopefully more constructive criticism, dim the lighting by, oh, 40-50% and then get some self-illumination going from the windows and lights.
