Title: Looking for organic textures + hullplate textures
Post by: Starman01 on September 07, 2010, 03:49:03 am
Hey,

I'm planning on re-doing the nephilim ships from Wing Commander Prophecy, but I'm lacking a good looking  organic like texture, preferable tileable. Does anyone can point me to something useful ?

Thanks in advance ;)

Sweet ;) Where can I get it ?

BTW, I did send you a PM a few days back. Mostly outdated, since I can get most of the stuff from SVN (if it's ok with you, since I use some of your greebles too), but if you can easily give me the greeble pieces with intact UV-Maps, that would be great (though I can redo it too, even if truespace is still a pain in the ass ;) )

Everything should be in the svn  (except for my newer heavy plasma and heavy particle cannons) ready to use in max format.

Great, I will check if I can find it. I still haven't finished downloading, there is too much stuff in the SVN, and my download constantly breaks up ;)

The best textures you can also make yourself. Borrowing someone's HD photocamera, shooting pictures of leafs, a slab of meat, the skin on your arm etc can make some awesome organic textures. Back in artschool we used to get our textures that way, including bricks, tiles etc, using a clonebrush tool to match the edges and make it tile-based. It's a bit of a challenge, but darn fun to try! :)

Wings of Dawn also has some decent organic textures.

Can anyone also point to some good looking armorplating texture ? That sort, that covers most of the hull of a starship, preferable tileable ? The details of the plating should be a little more subtile, or in other words, I need a higher tilling factor as the orginal FS textures. Unfortunately I suck at creating these, so I rather search for something availabe.

Thanks in advance :)

Thanks, I know this one, but there isn't something in that I could use as basic armor plating for my capitalships. :(
