You* thought he couldn't get worse. You* were wrong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS8E71RUOLU&feature=player_embedded)** (NSFW).
*I
I still hold out hope that it's a terrible, terrible joke.
**Uwe Boll's Auschwitz, graphic trailer.
-
Seriously, who lets him make films?
-
Germany.
-
We're innocent :nervous:
EDIT:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_boll#Financing
"His investors are mostly German."
 Sh*t!
-
Wasn't that him in front of the door?
Kind of explains a lot. ;7
-
Please, Lord, let this be a bad dream...
-
:|
Man.
This is an insult to the survivors of the Holocaust, and an even bigger insult to those who perished in it. What a ****ing ****. Please, Mr. Boll, read your history books before you make this movie at least.
-
Here I was thinking he was on the right track with Rampage. How wrong I was.........
-
Okay, seriously now. It's a trailer. It's not the entire movie. It's not the holocaust presented as this summer's new action-comedy starring Udo Kier. It's a solemn, straight-forward trailer that doesn't bull**** about what happened. Hell, if the movie is anything like the trailer, it'll be god-awful to watch, but at least it would be respectful.
Let's divorce ourselves from the fact that Uwe Boll is directing, and just view the trailer in a neutral light. Upon doing so, would I be wrong in saying that the tone presented bears similarity to the movie Downfall? And would I be wrong to say that Downfall was actually a damn good - if confronting - film?
Yes, it's Uwe Boll. Yes, it's the Holocaust. Those are two things that should never be together. But let's not go completely ape-**** before we see what kind of travesty this could turn in to. Let's operate under the notion that this will likely be an abuse of our senses far greater than any other Uwe Boll film to date. But let's let the lynch-mob wait until the movie is released.
-
But the difference is Downfall was actually a well directed, well acted, well written movie. How many of Uwe Boll's films are like that?
-
Uwe Boll truly is the king of trolls. Question is, who's funding him? I mean he cannot possibly make enough money with his films since everyone knows that they suck, so how does he actually manage to turn a profit?
-
No that's exactly the point: he doesn't make any profit with his movies. At least not directly. There's some loophole in German law where the government will bail you out if you have a project fail hard enough, including movies. Boll has been making crap movies on purpose to exploit this and make some cash.
-
Except that loophole has been closed for some time now....
-
Oh, well then go figure.
-
He's powered by the Souls of the Damned!
-
He's powered by the Souls of the Damned!
So basically, if you watch a Uwe Boll movie, you have an irresistable compulsion to be an extra in his next one?
-
I'm calling BS. In recent times Germany's stance about the WWII thing usually is to just obsessively avoid mentioning it at all costs. I know this is Uwe Boll, but even for him I don't think he's going to violate that taboo...
-
Germany.
A country known for making rational decisions :p
-
****, that was awful trailer to watch
now i feel bad, and that's a feat.
could you tell me more in the OP so that i could have got the gist -holocaust film and rather graphic at that- than just slapping NSFW on it, please spare others my fate of feeling bad for as long as i think about it.
-
He's powered by the Souls of the Damned!
Get rid of every single movie you've watched in the past.
Because we've got the hottest, most exiting movie you'll ever see in your entire pointless, frivolous lives.
Thats right, Prepare yourself for the one, the only...
UWE BOLL'S AUSCHWITZ COMMANDER!
-
UWE BOLL'S AUSCHWITZ COMMANDER!
Christ, must you make it sound like Derek Smart's making the licensed games too?
-
Apologies, mr ted.
-
Uwe Boll is going meta with his attempt to show the pain and suffering of the holocaust.
-
What's his audience though? I mean who would really go to this movie? It may be the greatest piece of cinema ever made, but I (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167260/) don't (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109830/) think (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120815/) so. (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000071/)
-
Yeah, if we wanna talk Holocaust movies, Schindler's List sort of has the category in lockdown.
-
Uwe (http://www.viceland.com/blogs/uk-film/2010/09/09/uwe-boll-rants-about-his-auschwitz-movie/) is really angry.
My favorite part is that they're apparently reusing all the stuff from Bloodrayne: Moar Nazis to make Auschwitz.
-
Well his heart is in the right place at least.
If his goal is to make sure people don't forget about the holocaust then stirring up a huge internet storm over the subject of a movie about it isn't exactly the worst way to make sure people remember exactly why the subject should be treated with respect.
-
His movie about Darfur wasn't too bad, so I hear. There may yet be some potential for this. I'm extremely doubtful about this movie though, I have this feeling he's going to turn at least 20 minutes of it into some solid goreporn. :(
-

DON'T MENTION THE WAR!!

A ****ty movie dedicated to one of the biggest tragedies in our recent history is not a good thing when the proceeds go to funding more bad movies. Der Untergang was actually informative as it mirrored a lot of Hitler's paranoia and so forth. It was well cast, well directed, etc. What will this movie have? Jews in showers.
Of course, my perception of any work of his is tainted by my knowledge of how terrible his movies normally are. I just don't like the thought of him making a ****ty movie on such a sensitive subject as this.

I VILL HEAR NO MORE DISPARAGING COMMENTS ABOUT ZE GERMAN PEOPLE! NOTHING BAD HAPPENED! EVERYONE WAS ON VACATION.

wat
-
I'm only about the upside.
He's not dealing with videogames anymore.
I can ignore him now.
-
Well his heart is in the right place at least.
Yeah, I'll give him credit for that much.
-
Postal was actually a pretty damn good movie adaptation.
I mean, did you ever play the games? Yeah, he really captured what those were about. The doctor (in literature, no less) is a genius.

Kill Uwe Bol with Fire. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KillItWithFire)
