I go directly to the question.
Is Sam, Mike and Mary the only available Microsoft TTS on Windows XP?
I've heard Vista has one more, don't know about 7.
But they really are bad if you compare to a lot you can find just online. Like Ivona.com or Acapela that has really realistic voices.
Is it just that Microsoft TTS don't support better voices? :P
I have looked a lot but nothing found. Just Mary, Sam and Mike -.-'

Yeah, you answered your own question. At least to my knowledge, there are no more voices that come bundled with XP.

Any free speech to text programs? Aka using MIC in mulitplayer and it being typed for you?

Lernout and Hauspie made two additional TTSes for Windows, called LH Michael and LH Michelle. I've personally tried LH Michael out as a Vasudan voiceover, and thought he did the job pretty well. My standards were pretty low back then, though.
Here is a video of how a telephone conversation between MS Sam and LH Michael might be like. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMdp0EVVcRI)

Neospeech has great voices. And if you choose one that's of another language, just use Wikipedia to figure out the pronunciation of the words you'd like to correct.
