I've thoroughly looked through this problem all the FAQ's looked over driver information for my GPU and am not sure what would be causing this problem. I have a nVidia 8800GTX with an AMD Phenom quad core CPU. My drivers are up to date and double check the installation of FS2 and FSO. It pops with several error messages if I click OK on the window and when it does try to start FS2 it looks really messed up, no images, just the words for the interface. No mouse courser, just have to use the arrow keys.
The messages are basicly the same, but different extentions, both of the FSO r and d versions do the same thing, so I think if may be my PC. The error message that first pops up is as follows:
The required OpenGL extension 'GL_ARB_multitexture' is not supported by your current driver version or graphics card.
ntdll.dll! ZwWaitForSingleObject + 21 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObjectEx + 67 bytes
kernel32.dll! WaitForSingleObject + 18 bytes
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF.exe! <no symbol>
I have feeling it is my PC or I did something wrong in installing it, but have no idea at all. I've used several guides to install FSO and used the newest version as I just found FSO as of today. Thanks in advanced.

Looks like your GPU driver is not installed correctly.
Also, please read the FSO FAQ (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=56279.0) and post an fs2_open.log. Instructions can be found in the FAQ.

Woops, yeah I forgot that part of the post. Here is the fs2_open.log file. I'll also see about getting my GPU drivers reinstalled.

Whatever this is, it should be removed.
As for your other problem, reinstall your GPU driver.
