Hey Blue Planet team so far War in Heaven is way more than awesome, but I'm having a bit of a problem. After beating the "Aristeia" mission the loading screen freezes almost immediately and after hitting alt-command-esc an error message saying "invalid intel name" comes up. I'm playing on an intel macbook with 1 gig of RAM, the operating system is OSX 10.5.8 (if you need more info about my computer just let me know). anyway I've attached a copy of my FS2 open log. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

You have not followed the install instructions correctly. The BP2 files need to be in a folder called "blueplanet2", with a mod.ini that looks like this:
# PLEASE NOTE ALL INI SETTINGS ARE *OPTIONAL*
# modname: Display name only, so you can have spaces instead of underscores for multi word MOD's
# image255x112: Location of a 255x112 bmp you wish to display in the launcher
# infotext: Text that will appear in the launcher
# website: Link to your website
# forum: Link to your forum
[launcher]
modname = Blue Planet 2;
image255x112 = bplogo.bmp;
infotext = Eighteen months after Age of Aquarius, the UEF/GTVA war enters its final, apocalyptic phase.
website = http://blueplanet.hard-light.net;
forum = http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/board,169.0.html;
[multimod]
primarylist = ;
secondarylist = blueplanet,mediavps_3612;
In addition:
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_Advanced.vp' with a checksum of 0x4b8b0f5a
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_AnimGlows.vp' with a checksum of 0x6a554026
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_Assets.vp' with a checksum of 0x529cc70f
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_Effects.vp' with a checksum of 0xb9a9a485
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_Music.vp' with a checksum of 0xb3e21469
Found root pack '/Applications/Freespace2/MV_Root.vp' with a checksum of 0x6ffd5c78
You have not followed the mediavps install instructions correctly. These files need to be in a folder called "mediavps_3612" in your FS2 folder.
OpenGL Renderer : Intel GMA X3100 OpenGL Engine
OpenGL Version : 1.2 APPLE-1.5.48
I seriously recommend deleting mv_advanced and mv_animglows.

At some point we'd love to get a better installation process, but for now we're stuck with the one we've got.
-
Hey, if he had used Turey's installer, this wouldn't have happened.
-
Hey, thanks for the quick replies and the advice guys. I followed E's advice by running Turey's installer and I updated everything but now the game "can't find the currently active campaign." I've tried every campaign that the installer gave me and it can only find the original blue planet and the original freespace 2 campaign. I'm sorry to be a pest but i looked around and all of the mod files are in their correct places and I'm not sure what to do about this.
-
Please post an fs2_open.log.
-
That you can only select FS2 and Blue Planet sounds like BP is the active mod. If you want to play another mod you have to select it in the launcher.
-
Here's the log. And blue planet 2 is the mod I have selected in the launcher.

You have 'blueplanet' selected as a mod according to this log file; select blueplanet2.
-
Yeah i see what you mean but the weird thing is I've got Blue Planet 2 selected as the active mod in the launcher:

Find a fie named "cmdline_fso.cfg" and delete it. Then open the Launcher again, and make the appropriate settings.
-
Bingo I guess great minds think alike. Right after I made that last post i manually changed the "mod stuff" in the command line file and it works! thanks for your help and your Patience I owe you guys. And by the way, this mod rocks awesome job blue planet team.

Hooray! We love you!
