why do i suck so much?
also why does this sentry gun not shoot :shaking:

I just tried it; and it works for me. I copied the table entry exactly, except that I replaced the Trebuchet with Phoenix V missiles (so I could throw it in my active MOD folder easier).
It fired upon me as expected. Maybe the problem is with the Treb somehow?

Yeah, it works with Harpoons. I thought maybe the AI profile in BP2 wasn't being applied to turrets, but then I tried loading Trebs on an Ares and that didn't work either. Huh.

Trebuchet has "huge" flag, hence turrets won't fire it on small ships. Smart secondary weapon selection does not apply to turrets.

Does the "bomber+" flag also prevent it from firing at anything but bombers? (since smart selection doesn't apply?)

Don't think that applies to turrets, only regular gunbanks.

It fires fine at capships. Not sure if that's what you meant.

have you modified the Platform2T-01 so it can actually carry secondaries? IIRC turrets have to have a secondary bank defined in the POF as well to fire missiles, unless that's changed.
Does it fire at anything at all? As in, put a bunch of hostile ships near it and see if it fires at any of them. You may have to make a version of the Treb that fires at small ships (without the "huge" flag).

It doesn't matter if the turret in the pof is defined as a primary or secondary turret, just what you put in the table matters.

No, you need to create a copy of the weapon without "huge" and "bomber+" flags. Also, you don't need to set SBank capacity on turrets as they have unlimited ammo.
You may also want to ask Darius or someone else to put a shield mesh on sentries, they really should have shields by the time BP takes place.

I guess I was just weirded out by the fact that fighter-launched Trebs are working fine. We'll need to make a Trebuchet#Turret or something.

pffff don't worry about it it's all cool, i'm putting cargo containers next to them to be ammo boxes, and little spacesuits to fly around reloading them!

Actually, being srs here for a second, they look like they've got about as much room for ammo and **** as an Ares. :wtf:

Hm...possibly.
But an Ares runs out of trebs fairly fast while turreted weapons have AMMO! UNLIMITED AMMO!!!!!
