Title: FS1 Campaign Question
Post by: mgbon2 on October 15, 2010, 08:27:16 pm
Hi everyone!
I just installed FS2 and FSOpen and thought playing from the start would be a good idea, so I activated the FSPort MediaVPs v3.2 mod. My question is how do I actually play through the entire campaign? I can only select single missions. Is that the only way? Or am I missing something?

Cheers,

Michael

Go to the campaign room, select 'FreeSpace Port'.

Go to the 'briefing' room, enjoy the campaign!

Ahhhh I see. Thanks =]
I was under the impression that it would mess up the game for some reason. Cheers!

Not selecting it would mess the game up. For a good reason. 'Cause then you'd be playing the FS2 campaign with FSPort. The campaign has FS2 ships, weapons 'n ****, while FSPort would offer FS1 ships, weapons 'n ****. Result: pain.

Actually you should go to the launcher and select FSPort or if you have the FSPort-mediavps select those.  Then go to the campaign room and select "The Main Freespace Campaign".  Go to the 'briefing' room, enjoy the campaign!

He's done that already, he was just hung up on actually selecting the campaign in-game.

It's actually the Ready Room, not the Briefing Room. And you're right, you do need to make a new pilot to play FSPort or you'll find things going wrong. You can clone a current pilot to keep its preferences, though.

That was pretty cool! Thanks for the info guys =]
And just one other thing, can I play the original FS2 later? I just need to disable any mods, right?
