Title: BWO Demo Update

In the absence of the BWO forum itself, I'm posting here to tell everyone about the progress of the campaign. Because it's good news, and I like telling people good news. :D

Basically the mission balance work for the BWO demo is done. :)

What does this mean? It means that it's playable from beginning to end, but entirely lacks briefings, debriefings and dialogue. Fortunately, they're fairly easy to write and simple to implement. Oh, and it could do with testing to make sure it's not insanely hard. :D

I also finished another BWO mission last night. Mmmm...new bomber attack...

The renders will be ready when Setekh says the renders are ready. I think. If not, then something's seriously wrong. :D

Fair point though. The actual campaign is some way off, as we have to finish the MODs and do a whole lot of mission work.

Oh, and should I take it as given that people want voiceacting with the demo? :nod:

3K?! Our staff forum has around 6K on it and the next largest private forum has 1K (that's Inferno ;))

Actually, it's been filled with "what about this model" and "I don't like this bit of the story, so let's kill it" type posts mostly. Fortunately the story is now pretty much done. And I'm working at another mission now.

They don't know when they'll be back but are working on fixing the problem as fast as they can. When they come back online I'll spread the word by means of a news post (unless someone beats me to it).

It's bloody annoying that the VWBB is still down - I've got loads of things I need to ask on the internal BB, including fixing a nasty bug with the background editor. :doh:

The good news about BlackWater Operations is that we've got alot of missions in the WIP stages.  That may not sound like much, but the hardest part of the design is to create the groundwork for a fun and interestng mission.  On more than 50% of our missions we have that.  You guys are in for a treat I hope :)
