Hi everyone. I want to ask, if anybody can reproduce this issue. With every build newer than 3.6.12 final i get major framerate drops when the com-animation appears (the little head-animation at the upper left side of the hud, that shows, who is talking to you). After the animation disappears, the game runs nice again. I´ve looked at mantis, but i didn´t that "bug" there. Maybe it´s just a problem with my rig.
I´m using the newest media-vps.
-mod mediavps_3612_unmodded -spec -glow -env -mipmap -ambient_factor 50 -ogl_spec 20 -spec_exp 15 -spec_point 8.6 -spec_static 3.0 -spec_tube 5.0 -no_emissive_light
fs2_open_ant_7r_INF_SSE2.exe (Antipodes 7 Build).

I've noticed this before but had thought it had something to do with the new sound. It was not enough to drop the framerate but it caused a visible stutter. I turned of the Com-animation in the hud and the problem went away.

Anyone tried this without mediavps on? Just plain old retail VPs? So far there's at least three reports of this, and 2 for sure are using mediavps and possibly shaders. Would really help narrow things down more if we could get a retail content only report. Since it seems to be in existence since Antipodes 6 though, not sure what the source may be. If anyone can help narrow down how far back this started, especially if it happens with retail content too, that'd be nice.

I ran it with no mod selected and it still stuttered. It was not as noticeable but still stuttered. Tried it with the Antipodes 7 build, the 6685 nightly, 3.6.12 sse2 and 3.6.12 inferno sse2. It was not as noticeable with the 3.6.12 builds but was still present.

I've had this issue too, but it is not constant, happens only like 10% of the times, and it is using mvps and i think i have some shaders around... haven't got to play retail and seen the issue yet.

We're getting random reports of this, but we really could use a way to reproduce it all or most of the time, and to find out if it's just certain combinations of shaders, builds, etc causing this. It's still pretty vague as to if there even is a new issue or if it's just being noticed and reported more at this point.

Well I noticed it immediately after making the switch to the Antipodes 7 build. Regardless of mod or mediaVPs, the Ant7 build causes it for me.
