also getting to show off my so far only textured fighter
numero 1
did this one first - set up slighly nicer and bigger but didn't throw so many effects at it namely radiosity and raytraced shadows

numero 2
this one is just to show off the exhaust abit nicer - this one ist just ray traced refelctiona and radiosity

numero 3
this was a going back to the first one and doing ti e=with effects but i had set it up for animation by then so the ships are so nicely positioned, but it has ray traced shadows reflection and radiosity on

Nice. What was it rendered in?
-
lightwave 7 basically everything i do is done in lightwave
-
Is this fighter also for our movie?
-
no this one was intended for freespace but in doing these renders i learned that a lowpoly model nicely textures can pull off a good effect - perhaps with my last one i went over the top on the poly count i think that one is about 370 poly or something my other fighter was a whopping 29,000 i'm thinking if i can create one at about 2000 or there about that will do nicely

Cool! I like the models and the thrusters. The entire thing is nice. No criticism really.

Well, you could make the gun barrels tubes instead of boxes....
-
I remember liking that fighter! Here's an idea: rotate the gun barrels 45 degrees, a la Herc. It looks suprisingly nicer.
My only qualm is with the thrusters in the second render. Too regular; I dislike the blue X's. Can anyone else see them?

Nice. :nod::yes:

Pwetty!!! Yeah, this is first class. The exaust flames look a bit too... i dunno.. same. You know what I mean?!
