Quote
Human skin cells can be transformed into blood without first being sent through a primordial, stem-cell-like state, according to a ground-breaking study.

The breakthrough, published online today in Nature1, follows work earlier this year showing that fibroblast cells from mouse skin, treated with the right cocktail of chemicals, can be transformed into neurons2 and heart muscle3. However, it is the first study to accomplish this feat with human cells, and the first to create progenitor cells — in this case for blood.

Certainly looks like a useful and less morally sensitive line to follow in parallel with stem cell

So we could fill a pumper truck full of the chemical cocktail and hose rioters with it yeah?  :drevil:

The unfortunate and squicky applications are endless!

More of a spray pistol than a sniper rifle.

Well, you've got to think here. There's only a couple of projectiles that are produced by the human body that could be used at any given time. So, unless it's a **** gun or a piss gun. I'm not afraid.

If it's an aids blood blaster, and i have a cut, then that's a different story.

wait.  wut.

we're talking about the chemicals that make the skin turn into blood.  what's all this about **** and piss projectiles?  :wtf:

It's S-99, his relevance and correctness are transitory at best. :P

A gun that shoots something that turns skin into blood and a squirtgun filled with pee, while both having considerable entertainment potential, are not the same.  :P

Sounds like the vampire population can stretch their food dollars a bit further.

What you said made me think of cell manipulation research being able to turn some kids arm into a biological gun. When in fact you just meant skin to blood gun...or rather a squirt gun with not water in it.

Well now... the Type 7 is more of a 'instantly turn all soft tissue to vapor' kind of weapon than a 'slowly convert skin cells to blood cells' er... thing.

Point. Between that and Alma though, anyone who played FEAR had to think of it a little.
