Title: No Afterburners?
Post by: Non0Sequitur on November 09, 2010, 05:17:49 pm
Hey guys, I just installed FreeSpace 1 on Windows XP OS and its working fine, except for the fact that the afterburner doesn't work. It makes the activation sound but theres no acceleration. Anyone else have this issue? Wondering if theres a patch or something to fix it.

Run the executable in 98 compatibility mode, as a stopgap fix. Should solve the issue.

As a much better fix, install FreeSpace 2, install FreeSpace Open, and enjoy both FreeSpace 1 and 2 with their graphics updated to 2010 standards!
