Title: WiH opening cutscene
Post by: DarthWang on November 27, 2010, 09:37:46 pm
The music is the same as in this Star Trek trailer:

Made me think I was about to play a Star Trek mod for a second

Hearing this music just makes me think:

"May the universe judge us all kindly in the next life."

I am surprised it came from Star Trek, seems like it fits BP better.

Anyways it's in the credits.

EDIT: erm perhaps i'm wrong about that last point.

I have that exact same feeling...
Doesn't feel Star Wars enough. The music for the movie itself fits it pretty well though.

Since the whole film didn't really fit Star Trek, why should the trailer music?

Wasn't it from a batman trailer too?

Trailer music often didn't come from the movie the trailer was for at any rate. Just take "Requiem for a Tower". That was from "Requiem for a Dream", but still was used for Lord of the Rings trailer (and countless others....).
Since I don't remember music like that being used in the actual movie, I'd guess that particular tralermusic is another case of that phenomenon.

So the question is, were did the music really come from?

Its an awesome piece of music from Two Steps to Hell and it really fits with BPWiH, shame that you can't apply a small sepia effect to it,i reckon it would be more atmospheric with a touch of sepia. Don't think you can do that in Fred can you.

The WiH intro had events keyed to important parts of the piece. The Star Trek trailer just had it as kind of background music.

We could do this, and in fact we did at one point; but we had to cut it before release because postprocessing was borked in 3.6.12.

As has been pointed out, both the Trek trailer and War in Heaven used a piece called 'Freedom Fighters', by Two Steps from Hell.
