I'm annoyed at the news. The 2022 World cup bid is coming! We might host the World Cup!
**** off. We don't want it. Give it to Qatar or some ****.
-
London Olympic Syndrome.
It's contagious ;)
-
2022? What the ****? I'll be like...not a child, in 2022...
And where on Earth are they going to have the world cup down here? :wtf:

Yeah like Australia is so crowded....... :P
-
You'd be surprised at some of the things people say about Australia WRT crowding. :P
But like, we have Melbourne. And...that's it.
-
We have a huge desert too!
-
Your gov gets the chance to waste some money in building unnecessary infrastructure in the middle of the desert, you might see it as an opportunity to populate "unpleasant" areas :p
Also WC FTW!
-
Just think you guys could hand out thousands of Didgeridoos and annoy the **** out of the planet just like those South African Vuvuzelas.

I would prostitute myself to see this happen.
-
And to one-up the South Africans in cheapness... you should make them out of cardboard and THEN claim that they are culturally relevant part of Australian football.
The contradictions built into that argument are quite staggering, but FIFA would be powerless to stop it from happening with the precedent in South Africa last summer.

One catch, Didgeridoos are notoriously hard to play. From memory, it involves breathing out with one's mouth whilst inhaling through the nose. Or something like that.
-
if you want to play it continuously yeah, but i'm sure that's not required just to make a sound.
-
Oh yeah, you could easily turn it into some kind of Vuvuzela if all you wanted to do was blow into it.
Wait. :nervous:
-
Well, yes, but you might have numb, puffy lips in a short while. Now if everyone who yelled had one of those things up to their mouth, what a sound! Or just make a modified version with a Vuvuzela hidden inside... ;)
-
I think I may be the only person in England who actually hopes we won't be hosting in 2018...
-
Phew.
Russia : 2018
Qatar : 2022
Footballs buggered off ;)
-
Excellent. Now we won't have to pay for it, and we can get our proper stadium built here in Perth, rather than a rectangular one. :D
-
Wiki'd traditional Russian instruments and they all look a little to complex to be the next Vuvuzelas, mostly string instruments and flutes. The only one that really looks simple enough to mass produce and use is the Treshchotka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treshchotka), but really all that would probably do is amplify the the applause.
-
As long as we don't get 20,000 balalaika singing what my guitar wants to sing....
-
really? Qatar? WHY????????? :wtf: :eek2:
-
really? Qatar? WHY????????? :wtf: :eek2:
Because it's incredibly rich, no?
-
So...
2014 Brazil
2018 Russia
2022 Qatar
-
I know we were trying to get it too, but given the fact that I wasn't even aware we had it in 1994 until years later, I'm not entirely sure why. :p
-
Qatar in action (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQLylizGmDs)
and we gave them the world cup host? wow.
-
FIFA has something against western countries :P.

Well, they don't have to be able to play football to host a World Cup, right?
-
Haa, that made #1 on SportsCenter's weekly Not Top Ten. :D
-
As someone who was in a pub in Glasgow as Robert Green performed his own version of the nutcracker suite, I tend not to comment on stuff like that ;)
-

well since they get an automatic qualification for hosting, it would be nice. there's also the matter of the extreme heat and tiny size of the nation.
