Not sure if this should be here, but I think this is really funny, and also very strange (http://stexpanded.wikia.com/wiki/USS_Sathanas_(NCC-80686)).
I know it's only fanon, but would an FS fan do it? Look below; USS Sathanas, USS Nebiros, USS Behemoth (the first Rakshasa you encounter in the FS2 retail campaign) USS Beast, USS Ravana. Moreover, it's said that they're trying to fight off the "Nephilim", which is, as you know, an actual Shivan bomber.
Moreover, it's said that the Nephilim attempted to cause their home star to go supernova with some kind of space-time distortion device:
The crew of the Sathanas finally launched transphasic torpedoes destroying the Nephilim spacetime distortion generators. With the distortion generators gone, the Sathanas and her fleet launched a final attack on the Nephilim homeworld, which happened to be the Triangulan homeworld. In one last vindictive act, the Nephilim set the star to go supernova, and the Sathanas raced to escape the resulting shockwave from the supernova explosion.

Sounds like the subspace ripple weapon the Sathanas fleet used, eh?
I am really quite puzzled by this. It's really rather unlikely that it was simply a coincidence that some ST fan made up a page that had full of Shivan-named Trek ships. :confused: :nervous:

Not sure about the term Sathanas, but Behemoth, Nebiros and Nephilim weren't exactly invented by Volition....

Indeed. All of those are names of demons, but isn't is interesting that whoever wrote it put together names of FS Shivan ships (it's not like they're scattered: I mean, maybe it would only be a coincidence if Star Wars had a ship called Sathanas, B5 would have a ship called the Nebiros, Battlestar would have a ship named the Beast, etc.).
Seems like there's a strong possibility he was making a parody to FS, or, just got names from FS (if that person was a FreeSpace fan). Again, it would be unlikely that it was just a coincidence; all those names come from the Freespace universe!

Anyway, as the largest FS-Trek freak I know (since Omni abandoned the field), I did not do this, nor endorse this entry.

Speaking of that, did you and/or Omni ever release any sort of compiled modpack? The FS engine practically begs for a Star Trek mod, and it would be great to see someone try to get a team together and make it happen.

Omni did release some ships, but not many.
He was replacing fighters. Then the BSG bug bit him and we know how that all turned out.
Omni and I were different cause I was converting them as CAP ships, meaning you would be dwarfed by them in a fighter (like POV from movies/series). the largest ship you'd get to pilot would be a "gunship", not a full on starship.
As for me, my best years were from 2003-2008. Had occasional help with one shots, but unfortunately I never had any back ups and lost it all. Plus I ended up having a RL situation that I need to resolve first before even thinking of throwing myself back in to any project.
Good news is that FS should still be here later. It's not like KA (that won't run without serious issues on Vista or 7).
And with the SCP, it's still viable compared to most games in the genre today, so even if i wait 1-2 more years it won't make a difference.

BTW, if you want single ships, Little Ludi uploaded a **** ton of conversions he didn't get permission for onto the Fs2sector site.
Because I trusted him (by his ****ty Read Me "all ships free for use, Little Ludi") it screwed my project over, cause I had SFC3 and BC Modders pissed at me about "mesh theft". Once I explained what happened, many of them became my contacts there...
Note 99% of his ships are not armed, just in pof mode.
