http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/tyrian_2000
Possibly the best top down shooter for the PC is on GoG for free, if you dont understand why I'm so hyped just download and play
-
:wtf: Tyrian 2000 is awesome, but it was already free....
-
where from? cause even today the legality of the content on many Abandonware sites is dubious
-
http://members.iinet.net.au/~vannevar/tyrian/ I think.
Also, word on the forums is that Tyrian 2.1 > Tyrian 2000; I'm not sure why though.
-
correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see anything to say Tyrian was free prior to GoG's announcement, there was mention about the music but not the game itself. As I say hosting and downloading abandonware is a dubious business, just because not all devs/publishers are like Lucasarts demanding removal of their content don't make it legal because the rights are still owned by the publisher and or dev and you still need their expressed permission to distribute the content legally
-
I haven't seen a price tag on Tyrian, ever.

2000 added a fifth chapter. That's the only difference I'm aware of.

I think it added some new weapons and stuff, but I don't remember the fifth chapter being particularly good or anything. Or the weapons.
