Title: I hate to ask but is there some sort of official 'trailer' for Freespace 2 Open?

This is the closest thing I can find but the quality is pretty bad. I'm looking for like a trailer that showcases the awesomeness that is Freespace and the source code project. Something that I can show to a person who's completely oblivious about Freespace and after watching the end of the little video, want to play the game.

Surely there must be something?

There was a old trailer back in 2007 or 2006 made by someone here in hardlight.

You can see a comparison between the vanilla and the old Media VP 3.x.

If you want more videos, I made a playlist, here :

I'm pretty sure that's an Inferno trailer, actually. If we want it to serve as FSO trailer, the last part should be cut out :P

At 1:24 there's a head-on collision between an Ursa and a Seraphim. :p

Flail SCP is still pretty awesome, but it's at least 4 years old now.

Which is a good comment on the SCP. They improved so much, but the AI is still dumb at times

Make one that shows the differences between the retail ships and the newer high-poly ones. I know it's now released yet, but I'm thinking of things like the new Hathesput, not the older ones like the Herc and Fenris, etc.

Um, it is released and was in the 3.6.12 MVPs.

Hm, these are well intentioned but of poor quality in production. I think we can do something in HD, and use in-mission cutscene scripting to record identical flybys of retail assets and MediaVPs assets, and make a smooth transition between them.

Model glory shots are terrific, and I absolutely love those battle scenes, they're really cinematic. It's worth including clips from our new animations too, such as the Vasuda Prime toasting cutscene, or a fullscreen rendering of one of mjn.mixael's Command Briefing animations or mainhalls. Highlighted mods should be those that are actually released and people can play: FSPort/ST:R/VI, BP/BP2, VD, PI, Windmills, and any playable demos for BTRL or FotG.
