Title: Inferno R1 problem
Post by: DarthWang on December 30, 2010, 03:24:12 pm
Okay, I got up to the Gigas mission, but when the Gigas jumped in, the first Vasudan destroyer fired on it and its hull went down to 99%, then the Vasudan destroyer jumped out, and there was a message about the Gigas powering up one of its main guns, but then nothing happened and the other Vasudan destroyer just sat there. I eventually jumped out and it said there was no debriefing for the mission, and when I clicked accept the campaign ended and I had to start it over again

The campaign was supposed to end, there's nothing after that mission, IIRC.

We all know that's the last mission, guys, it's just that something's wrong there. The Gigas is supposed to take that destroyer out... only then the mission can end. If nothing happens, there must be a problem.

Congratulations are in order.

Yeah, right. If i was ever disappointed in some campaign it was inferno. All the racket about it promised something else. This end was one of the main reasons. Sheesh, at least they could have let us take it down (Big thanks to IronBeer for making that possible :D ).

So how do I get it to work right?

If it's all the same to you, just play it in the Tech Room mission simulator.

But what if the same thing happens again?

But what if the same thing happens again?
Then come back hollerin'. It sounds like a one-off slip-up to me.

It happened again, the Gigas just didn't fire

Happened to me a couple of times too. Just consider the Zod desty got beamed and move on. This old campaign isn't worth getting stuck on it for a tiny little bug at the end.

I'm surprised more problems weren't encountered earlier to be honest.

DarthWang, what mods are you using? Are you sure the Gigas' long range anti-fleet beams have been replaced by something else? That'd explain the problem.

Which leads me to another question: Did the Diablo use its main beam weapon when you faced it?

I'm using the 3.6.12 Inferno build, the Diablo did fire. I can use cheats and switch between all weapons including URed (in fact after the mission screwed up I activated cheats and used URed and USilv to kill the Gigas, then used ~k to kill the Vasudan destroyer to end the mission).

Check your INFR1 folder and its mod.ini, then report here everything.

Well, I'm curious. Just in case the problem pops up again. :)
