Title: Narn Heavy Cruiser
Post by: Sarafan on January 03, 2011, 05:43:02 pm
This is the second ship I've made, its a Narn heavy cruiser. For those that dont know what a Narn is, they're a species from the tv series Babylon 5, they have particularly cool ships in my opinion - you can check this wiki for more info on them: http://babylon5.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

I've tried to make the ship as "complete" as I could. All in all, it was really fun, its great to see something that you've only imagined given form. I've also included the sketchup file if anyone wants to see the whole model but you'll need google sketchup to open it.

Any comments are welcome and I have a question to those more knowledgeable, how does one make a texture? For comparison's sake this is what a Narn ship is: http://babylon5.wikia.com/wiki/G%27Quan_class_cruiser

One makes a texture by UVmapping it, then drawing the texture to the UVmap, pretty much.

Quite nice model you have there - Narn next gen warship in style... although it is not as flat as the originals (exception Season 1-cruiser)

Added some colors just to see how it would look like in the Narn color scheme.

This is of the same generation as the BinTak, right?  It certainly has the same profile.

No, its meant to be built around the time B5 goes offline as a replacement of the G'quan but I did base the upper and lower parts of the ship of the ones in the Bin'tak.
