Title: HomeWorld
Post by: Knight Templar on May 03, 2002, 08:08:56 pm
Hey guys, i just bought the Game Homeworld. I Got a Game of the year edition "bright orangish cover with ships on it" and when i install it asks for a CD Key like most games, yet the cds were in the lil' paper holders so i have no cd key that i know of. I was wondering if yous had any explainations/advice/or possibly a replacement cd key. Any help is appreciated. Thanx

Oddness...
The actual Homeworld CD should have been in a normal case...
With the CD key on the front...
If it didnt come in one, and you cant find it anywhere, the only thing you can do is email Sierra...

I've had that happen ****-loads of times. It happens when you buy the re-released versions, things like the Premier Collection and SoldOut. The only thing I've ever been able to do is take the games back and look elsewhere for them.

Um no, i actually bought the game (of the year edition) from best buy (for 9.99 mind you). I've been wanting to try the game ever since I've heard you guys talk about it here and no it did not come with a cd key, thank you very much. If i made it sound like i was trying to bum a free game off somebody, then i'm sorry, but those were not my intentions at all. I was just looking for some help from those who i thought i could rely on.

Well, considering the fact that warez downloading has run rampant, everyone gets a little suspicious when people come on forums asking for CD keys.

Knight Templar: On the first page in the briefing with two pictures on it, what's the sentence aligned with the top of the second picture?

One of my friends thinks there's a Freespace to Homeworld total conversion; is he right? And if he is, where might I find it?

Hmh..

If there is no cd-key in cd-cover (outside or inside) then look for the key from manual's bottom left corner.

Most likely somewhere there is a series of numbers, but without any mention that this one is key or keycode.

Try Homeworld Universe (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~homeworld/) and The Relic Forums (http://forums.relicnews.com). Both are excellent resources for Homeworld fans.

'S great how everyone's on a little vigilante witch hunt nowadays...:D

Hey! I deal warez! Come and get me! Nyah nyah!

I mean, really. It's the internet. Things on here, they come in three flavors only: Free, illegal, and warez kiddie lunch. If corporations really wanted to end warez, they'd sell their software for only maybe twice what it cost them to produce, and remove the demand for warez. As it is, with big corporations moving hundreds of thousands of units of say, Photoshop or Half-Life and charging as much as $30,000 a prog, it serves them right.

Erm, might I ask:
