Title: Robert Loggia Movies
Post by: Krackers87 on January 10, 2011, 11:39:38 pm

I had an idea yesterday I wished to explore, that being the possibility of going through Robert Loggia movies and cutting out worthwhile soundbites of him talking to make new Admiral Petrarch lines.

I'm trying to get suggestions of any movies you guys know of that have lots of Loggia talking, preferably a movie that doesn't have a **** ton of background music that would interfere with audio quality, and if possible, a sci-fi themed space movie for obvious reasons.
TV shows and the like work as well (even documentaries), as long as its nothing so obscure that i wouldn't be able to find it.

BTW, i know Imdb exists, I'm looking for suggestions to cut down on time spent, versus just downloading anything he was in and spending weeks sorting through it, since hes quite the prolific actor.

"*Alpha 1* I'd sure like to know what you're doing."

"And what happens if *the Shivans* do become hostile?"

"You should've warned us about it when they first arrived.  You should've warned us before we launched a counterattack that cost the lives of hundreds of *GTVA* pilots!"

Maybe doing a youTube search on him will produce some hints as to where to look?

What are those from?

And i wanted to mention i got a software copy of auto-tune  i was going to try out to see if it could be used to create nicely flowing phrases out of chopped up bites. From what i understand, it can do this.

No T-Pain **** though.

"Mr President, I'd sure like to know what you're doing."

"And what happens if they do become hostile?"

"You should've warned us about it when they first arrived.  You should've warned us before we launched a counterattack that cost the lives of hundreds of American pilots!"

Independence Day.

Well, you cut out the "American" part of that last one and you've got a damned good soundbite for a failed offensive due to faulty intel. No insert required.

I can totally see a parody campaign in the future, with Admiral Petrarch confronting a ship commanded by Robert Loggia.

Could you use some pitch and volume changing to lines to give them a different 'tone', so you could perhaps fit GTVA into that Independence Day quote earlier?

Removing the word 'American' would work better. It's possible to insert words, but even with Autotune or similar it's a complex job to stop it from sounding like a splice.

Ah yeah, that's much easier.

Command:  We've got an incoming jump signature...Loggia configuration!

Alpha 3:  Whoa!  Robert Loggia!

GTD Loggia:  That's right Billy!

GTD Aquitaine:  This is Admiral Petrarch, commanding officer of the GTD Aquitaine.

GTD Loggia:  This is Robert Loggia.  R, as in Robert Loggia.  O, as in Oh my god, it's Robert Loggia.  B, as in By god, that's Robert Loggia.

GTD Aquitaine:  We have received news of an alarming development.  At 0900, a Shivan cruiser ambushed and destroyed the GTC Vigilant.

GTD Loggia:  And what happens if they do become hostile?

Command:  Then God help us.

GTD Aquitaine:  The regional death toll since the incursion now exceeds 80,000.

GTD Loggia:  50,000?! FIFTY ****ING THOUSAND?!

GTD Aquitaine:  80,000.

GTD Loggia:  With your permission I'd like to remain at your side.

GTD Aquitaine:  Granted.

GTD Loggia:  Enjoy your breakfast!  *warp out*

I've always thought that you could make at least a single mission out of Independence Day alone.  Hell, he even says, "They're preparing to fire their primary weapon!" in it. :p

Enlighten us, please. :nervous:

I'm trying to find that mashup I did of Lost Highway and a Capella briefing.

Yeah, but FUBAR seemed to imply that Family Guy was referencing something.

What was the point of that if you didn't have Rob doing the voice. It doesn't sound like him at all... and he has a VERY distinctive voice.

FWIW, he was just on the new NCSI:HawaiiHawaii-Five-O in the last couple of months. I don't know if there were any potentially useful lines there, but IIRC he was a retired Navy guy acting as a tour guide on a museum warship, which gets (sort of) taken over.
