Today I finished the LAST command brief anim in hi-res glory! I remade over 150 anims from FS1 & FS2. They are now at 660x300 instead of 440x200(FS2) or 200x150(FS1). This was one of my biggest projects and most time consuming! (So far.)
In celebration, I'm going to give you guys screens from random anims until they are released with the projects they are associated or I just don't feel like it anymore. Starting with these!

Actually.. It's starting to grow on me a bit... :lol:
Also, you may note that the screens are labeled by their ani name and frame number (2_cb_ANINAME####.jpg), so if someone really wanted to compare, it should be pretty easy.

Probably, because they're a pretty big download and it'd generally be easier and better to keep them or the next release.

There is only one anim that REALLY suffers from being an ANI, that's cb_shiversubkilla. So as part of the celebration, I offer you this.

That has Shiversubkilla as an EFF. Looks so nice and purty that way! (Goes into FSPort.)
PS: This will also show why an EFF pack of all the Anims will be really difficult.. (look at the filesize for this ONE anim VP.)

I'm replaying the main FS2 campaign now, I'll be taking this as an opportunity to have a last look at those retail cbanims :D

We have followed you through IRC as these ANIs have tested your endurance to the limit. We know of the meticulous attention to detail you have put in to these, and these pics reveal to everyone just how much of a master you are. Spectacularsauce.

Actually, I might.
If my calculations are correct we have no less than 5 HTL capships in the works; Collie, Hades, Typhon, Boadicea, and Sath. Not all of those may be ready for 3.7 MVPs, but the Hades and Collie at least are very near finished. 3.7 will be a glorious day for FSO indeed.

Well, what we have in SVN is exactly what is in the Shaders Testing thread. Are you referring to those as needing an upgrade, and if so, I'm at a loss as to understanding how such is possible.
If you mean it'll be nice to see them becoming the packaged shaders, then I agree.

Still the same gripe about performance, and how filling the screen with hull will cut the framerate fivefold. Also hoping that you guys threw in some new shaders for post-processing or a super-secret shadow mapping thing, which was what "hoping for too much" was about.

Though... CTCv Hyksos and Diomedes? Shouldn't that be a G at the front? Small issue alright, it may not be worth the effort of fixing.
But if you do it, could you also fix the Vasudan ship prefixes to GVx instead of GTx? :v: probably didn't notice the typos there :D

Mines UV'ed and c914 is working on the texture. About a week and a half ago he said he would have something to show in two weeks, so we'll see. I personally have yet to see what he has come up with, but if his Cain is anything to go by, I highly doubt we'll be dissappointed.

But the lensflare has to be dynamic (the more speed the brighter - like in Nexus: Jupiter Incident e.g.)

Proof that the Orion can look awesome.
You could have put lights in the engines, so that the asteroids and part of the Orion would be lit by it. Something that apparently the SCP code isn't capable of. But your renderer does that in a heartbeat.

It's already been requested... The problem is that I don't waste CPU cycles if I don't have to. Which means that the source material (renders from 3ds Max) are all at 660x300. So first, I would need to re-render all of that. Then I would have to upscale the entire composition in After Effects before rendering it out at the higher resolution.
Simply put, it would be faster to just do a still image mock up from scratch... Which I don't really have time for right now.
